There are currently 4 legendary heroes and 8 epic heroes that have the gathering tag.
Gathering notes
Check your talents, as some effects increase gathering speed. For example, in Derrick’s talent tree, you can get talents that give 5% more gathering speed, with each level of it counting for 5% on the Gathering Speed. These are indicated by the hand with an hour glass on the corner of that picture.
Gathering specialty character will always have two gathering abilities (The exception is Diao Chan, who has four)
Troop load matter as much as efficiency. This can let you chain more gathering nodes in a quick succession without recalling.
Gathering Speed can also tell you exact numbers of resource you can gather per hour!
The four types of gathering talents on legendary characters are
- Efficient Harvest (Flat gathering increase)
- Rapid Gathering [Exclusive Blue skill for Diao Chan] (Flat gathering increase)
- Supplies Transportation (Flat gathering increase + Increased Troop Load)
- Windfall (Flat gathering increase + Bonus resource on fully exhausting a node)
Best stats for gathering teams
Based on how gathering teams work, commander types don’t matter. This is strictly because Military Specialty does not affect this and neither does troop bonus.
The most important stats to look for is usually other gathering skills and skill tree points that centralize around it.
Who is Diao Chan? Why is she critical for this?
Diao chan is a paid gatherer who excels at gathering.
Her two main skills are:
- Graceful Steps: Reduces your troop’s damage taken by X% and increases your movement speed by Y% for 9 seconds. Grants 100 initial rage upon entering battle.
- Unit Charge: Increases the gathering Speed for all resources by X. The first Y amount of resources gathered in a natural day will be 1.5 times as many.
- ⭐ Bonus: Unit Charge increases your troop’s load by 20%.
- ⭐⭐⭐ Star Bonus: Increases the bonus limit by 1M and the total multiplier to 2 times. Also reduces the resources stolen from defeat when gathering by 30%.
- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Star Bonus: increases the bonus limit by another 1M and the total multiplier to 2.5 times. Graceful Steps will now reduce 5% more damage and your movement speed will increase by an extra 20%.
Diao Chan’s advantages are strong. Lowering resource lost from potential attackers and being able to outrun all unit types easily when using her commander skill is what makes her extremely efficient.
Running cavalry is efficient for her since they had the most speed in the game (90) and she can boost their speed in combat to get away while keeping losses to a minimum.
She also immediately gets troop load buffs at one star, making her power spike at that part!
Are there benefits? Is it cost effective?
The price tag for Diao Chan is only two dollars for the currently most efficient gatherer. For Low to mid spenders in this case, the two dollar fee is well worth her value of saving money from resource packs.
A way to read Gathering Efficiency
- 0% gathering bonus requires 3 hours to exhaust a lvl 3 node.
- 100% gathering bonus requires 1.5 hours to exhaust a lvl 3 node.
- 200% bonus requires only 1 hour to exhaust a lvl 3 node.
F2P players aren’t fully out of luck without Diao Chan. If you want a more free route, there are a handful of other gatherers you can obtain freely. The Free to Play gatherers can also double as a strong team for gathering since many of their skill points you can invest into also have combat stat buffs when gathering!
King Derrick, Darius The Great, and Cleopatra will have a legendary skill reserved for gathering that you may unlock with Empire Coins or money.
