This tier list is special in a way, this tier list relies on “base value” a concept I made on my own.
Guide to Hero Tier List
By Kaity
What is the “base value” of a hero
Base value refers to the impact the hero has at level 120, zero stars with no talents no equipment no customizable skills, no rings, taking only their stats commander skill and signature skill into consideration
If the “base value” does not take all these factors doesn’t that mean it’s unpractical?
Yeah but no, the practical rating of the heroes should also include the investments you need to make them functional, some of the guides don’t consider this
Another thing is not all heroes are equal, some heroes are better than others, base value helps to identify this.
How is the “base value” determined?
By math, I calculate how much damage they are expected to do depending on their skills and stats, other things as healing and buffs are included.
Defensive stats and damage reduction are calculated based on the average of top damage dealers previously calculated.
Of course, it’s hard to transform everything into numbers and math, which reduces the accuracy of the calculations. still, I’m confident I can deduce the right conclusions from my data.
What is the purpose of this tier list?
Heroes with high “base value” who will be on the top of the list will probably be:
- Good early game hero, functional as a 0 star and with low investment, unless it’s stated otherwise.
- Safe to invest in, because they have the potential to remain usable due to the high numbers they have.
Base value is also used to further theory craft the hero with their customizable skills, as well as determine what are the values of the stars of the hero (I plan to release a guide regarding this very soon).
Now let’s see the tier lists:
This is the tier list of the heroes used as a secondary hero (second in command or third in command).
Small note: heroes are placed in order of the highest value to the lowest value from the left to the right.
S tier
- Although King Arthur is a mythical hero, he loses lots of his value from not using him as a commander, yet he is still considered a top-tier commander.
- Sun Tzu Suleiman Hannibal and Octavian got into this tier from being their high damage output, maybe with specific note that Suleiman got this high because of his high defensive stats as well.
A tier
Tribhuwana: here is used as secondary to a mix of Yodit and Miyamoto commander, this can be considered a special case of base value calculations, the reason I went for this is because I think Tribhuwana increases the chance of triggering active skills in broken numbers and deserved appropriate calculations.
Yodit and Miyamoto have strong signature skills, even without being buffed with Tribhuwana.
Richard and Boudica can deal lots of damage from their signature skills in addition to the buffing.
Constantine has decent healing, but most of his value comes from his high defensive stats in addition to damage reduction.
B tier
- Yi-Sun-Shin (YSS): has high value due to his decent damage paired with a massive boost to Suleiman.
- Yi Seong Gye: YSG’s signature skill has zero value without customizable skills, I used Crashing Boulder and Pearless Strike as value for his skill instead (a special case of base value calculation).
- Fredrick’s: healing is a little bit unpractical at 0 stars, most of his value comes from the damage reduction though.
- Theodora: most of her value comes from the damage reduction, her skill boost is not good at 0 stars.
- Ram: buff other allies, but that’s hard to calculate for now, instead, his value here is for the damage reduction and buff he provides for his troops.
C tier
Julius Caeser and Lubu are not good secondary heroes at all, they better be primary.
Seondeok: weirdly enough, Seondeok does not seem to be that good, even though her silence is niche, the chance of triggering it is too low.
It’s worth mentioning that this issue is not solved by stars or customizable skills I’m personally sad.
The new marshal line-up: Oda, Toyotomi, and Tokugawa, have slightly more value than the f2p warrior swordsmen line-up heroes in the D tier, but Please pay attention to the gap between them is not high enough and they can be considered in the same tier list
The f2p warrior swordsmen line-up: King Derrick, Hammurabi, and Josephine, please pay attention that Josephine and King Derrick can be used as archer heroes, giving them more flexibility than the marshal heroes
Darius and Harald: are not good heroes without customizable skills, but I don’t think they are that good with them either so that’s why they are in this tier list now
To be determined
These refer to the heroes whose base value can’t fully present them because they are very dependent on the heroes with them and instead, I will evaluate them during their line-up guides.
This tier list of the heroes used as commanders:
S tier
King Arthur with his ult is significantly stronger than anyone else.
A tier
- Richard Ult gives him too much value compared to him being a secondary.
- Fredrick has a very strong ult ” in theory” that’s because he can buff multiple allies around him for a long time, if his ult buffs only himself then B tier is a little bit more accurate for him.
B tier
- Lubo: Redeems himself a little bit as a commander compared to being secondary, but Please pay attention that Lubu can be considered in.
- Theodora: although she loses her skill boast from her signature skill, she is a somewhat decent primary hero at zero stars.
- Octavian: I’m not a fan of him as a commander at all.
C tier and To be determined
There is not much to say about these.
Finally, one of the uses that this tier list can imply is notice how heroes such as Yodit, Miyamoto, Constantine, Tribhuawana, and King Arthur are high on that list while having the same troop and specialty types, the same thing can be said about Richard and Boudica
These high-value heroes can be put together and obviously, their teams are expected to do very well.
Some line-ups have great heroes, Sun Tzu, Hannibal, and Suleiman, but they don’t have other heroes in the same tier, which makes the investment in these line-ups as a whole a little risky and requires more research.
Update
This is an updated version of this tier list, I figured I didn’t want to make a new post about this, so I fixed a few mistakes I made especially with the hero “Cid”.
While giving a value for the heroes I put in the “to be determined” tier.
Note: I used customizable skills as a reference to their skills and calculated how much they affect these skills then made sure to remove the value of the skills themselves), this is still the base value tier list and it’s only for 0 stars heroes.
The left is the tier list as secondary heroes while the right them as a commander.
Some heroes don’t have commander values because they are not worth using as commanders.
The numbers right to the heroes are the values calculated.
KA=King Arthur, YSS= Yi Sun-Shin.
