Warrior Cavalry Heroes/Lineup (F2P & Spenders)
By kaity
Let’s talk about the warrior cavalry heroes! As before let’s review each hero then make the line-up based on that:
Heroes Review
Darius The Great
Not much use in this line-up mentioned why – read here.
Darius has some uses here.
Ok now that we talked about Harald in detail, let’s talk about Guan Yu.
Guan Yu
A crit hero, lemme explain what “crit” is:
Crit means you have a chance for a damage instance to be amplified, the chance to amplify the damage is known as “critical chance” or “critical rate” and how much the amplified damage is is known as “critical damage”, dealing critical damage is sometimes shortened to “to crit” which what I will use in this guide.
Crit in AOEM works only on Normal attack, well no it works on skills as well but they need to specify that they can crit.
*Normal attacks usually don’t do that much damage, this is because they don’t scale off hero stats directly.
The Crit rate can’t exceed 75%.
Now returning to Guan Yu his Signature skill gives him crit rate but in two ways:
- The first is a permanent crit rate increase.
- The second in lasting for a specific duration.
This signature skill at max level will be a little bit over the crit skill cap during the specific duration.
The commander skill also gives crit rate but typically it will be cast after the specific duration has ended, and it goes over the crit cap as well.
Guan Yu’s commander skill does not crit, only one of his customizable skills can crit.
Generally speaking, since heroes usually don’t do much damage from the normal attacks and Guan Yu is wasting potential by going over the crit gap, this results in Guan Yu, not being a good hero on his own in general.
Rani
Rani’s commander skill can be a little interesting at first glance, but as I said Normal attacks don’t usually do that much damage, another thing is Rank doesn’t have a “critical insight” skill which would have been very great for her.
Anyway her Signature is a buff skill that buffs the next commander.
For example, if you put Lubu Attila Rani in a team Rani will buff Lubu, but if you put Lubu Rani Attila, she will buff Attila instead, the order of the heroes placed in the line-up matters.
Her signature skill increases the next hero’s might, A stat you need on your main damage dealer hero, the other part is the double attack state for 3 seconds.
A double attack state is a state in which the hero will do two normal attacks in a turn instead of two.
Please pay attention that she only buffs the next hero, so she only buffs one hero.
Please pay attention that the buff is for 3 seconds and heroes take turns to perform normal attacks, so a hero will perform their normal attack every 3 seconds, so the buff increases the normal attack done by one.
Two normal attacks, mean that the hero will do more damage from the normal attacks because you did an additional one, and it increases the times that the hero will trigger “secondary strike skills”.
Is paper Rani seems good but let’s see the problems with her.
The chance of triggering this buff is a little bit low, also she buffs only one hero.
So she seems to be outshined by the hero Attila.
Attila
Attila commander skill don’t use it because his Signature skill is better, that’s it let’s cut some of the talk.
Attila’s Signature skill is straightforward but please pay attention.
He buffs all three heroes with the double attack state.
You may see a little bit of annoying interaction between Attila and Rani, where the double attack could overlap, this is why Rani is usually not used because how Attila is just a better version than her
Attila is a wonderful hero, also in a previous tier list I made I put him in the to-be-determined tier because his skills are useless without customizable skills, but after using customizable skills as a reference (WPA to be specific) he has the potential for an S tier in the Secondary heroes tier list.
He is the best partner with Lubu.
Lubu
Lubu commander skill
- A circular area (he can hit the enemy behind him)
- Can hit 5 people
- Can critically strike
- Needs 200 energy
- With 100 initial energy
- Balance, hello?
His Signature skill gives him some crit rate (that does not go over the cap).
Then his next customizable skill will do more damage if one of your heroes crit, this is easy to achieve.
Now let’s go to the interesting part, when a hero in the team crit, they have a chance to deal additional normal attack.
Also, all of his skills can crit.
Additional normal attacks mean more normal attack damage and more “secondary strike” skills triggered.
Generally speaking, Lubu Signature skill has everything that Guan Yu needs, his crit does not go over the cap for no reason, and not only his normal attacks can crit but also now his skill, he can buff these skills, and he has an additional chance to trigger these skills by performing more normal attacks!
Something that needs to be mentioned is that an additional attack is not considered a double-attack state! This means no “anti-synergy” similar to the one Rani and Attila had between each other, a hero with no flaw detected.
All that being said in my tier list, Lubu ended in the high B tier, that is without customizable skills and with only his crit rate, this is generally not bad for the base value of a hero, but Lubu has a bigger potential than this.
Lubu needs investment in his customizable skills, and needs investment in Attila to buff him! If so happened, Lubu has the potential to be one of the best damage dealer heroes if not the best.
He is a perfect damage dealer, with high Aoe damage, High damage from customizable skills, and even high Normal attack damage (relevant to the other heroes), while also buffing the other heroes in the team.
Stars
First of all Harald and Darius’ stars don’t matter since we won’t use them (both tavern heroes).
Guan Yu (tavern hero) stars are a little bit ok but never use universal medals on a tavern hero.
Rani Attila and Lubu’s values are hard to calculate, anyway putting that aside their stars are generally.
Rani is a daily/battle pass hero, she is decent not too good not too bad.
Lubu and Attila are wheel heroes
Generally speaking, Attila Lubu and Rani’s first stars are really great, the Might increase is definitely helpful to increase Lubu’s damage.
Note: Please pay attention Lubu was the last hero to be released in the wheel in the beta, This suggests Lubu is a late-game hero, and Lubu is the core of this Line-up because there are no other good main DPS units.
Note: Attila and Richard are on the same wheel! the first wheel in a kingdom supposedly, Richard has a way better early game than Attila when built for the cavalry team and is generally recommended for the Pikemen line-up, if you want to invest in the warrior cavalry line-up make sure you grab Attila and make your own decision whether you get Richard or not!
The Line-Up
- The commander is Lubu, and his best support is Attila, the third hero slot is either Rani or Guan Yu.
- Guan Yu is the f2p option since Rani is pay-walled at the moment.
- For spender, I prefer Rani over Guan Yu.
Guan Yu although he can be considered a selfish hero, has some support skills and synergy with Lubu, giving him the spot to be in this line-up.
Rani is a support, Attila outshines her, and her customizable skills are a little bit questionable.
Customizable skills
For Lubu, since he is the main damage dealer we will put the skills that do damage on him, all 4 skills in the first image can work on Lubu, but I prefer Weak Spot Attack and Ripper Tiger the most. Note Infuriation is a purple skill, when it’s level 40 and max ranked it’s slightly worse than Weak Spot Attack, this skill can be considered a budget skill if you want to save 8k imperial coins (or skill medal)
Next the skills will depend on whether you run Attila Guan Yu or Attila Rani.
Attila and Guan Yu
Both of them need to get Critical Insight and Warrior’s Hymn on Attila, make sure Attila is the third hero so Warrior’s Hymn would buff Lubu (in other words Put Lubu Guan Yu and Attila in this order).
Guan Yu’s second skill could be a purple skill as Armor Piercer since Guan Yu is not the greatest hero out there and will be the first to be replaced in this line-up if ever, but if you want to go legendary skill I recommend Berserker on Guan Yu, generally speaking, if you want to benefit from a hero’s stats you need to have skills that scale off it, and Guan Yu does not, but the reason I still recommended this is because depending on my calculations this skill at level 40 will gives 50% might attack%, and if it’s fully ranked it gives 75% attack%, and the uptime is great.
For Rani the skills get a little bit messy, first of all, Rani doesn’t have Critical insight, second, she buffs the hero after her so you no longer can use Warrior’s Hymn on Attila, but fortunately, Rani has Warrior’s Hymn.
So the line-up will be Lubu Attila Rani in this order, Lubu has his skills mentioned before, while Attila has Critical insight and Rani has Warrior’s Hymn.
Then you can go budget investment with purple skills on Attila and Rani, more specifically Armor piercer on Rani and Infuriation on Attila.
If you want legendary skills, you can go Warrior’s Hymn on Attila, yes you read it right, the crit chance will help make sure Lubu’s customizable skills are buffed by his signature skill, not only that but they might bonus that will definitely help the team, you could also try your luck and go King’s Blade, but please I’m not the biggest fan of this, we are just putting this skill because there is nothing else
Finally, I want to note that Rani can be a good hero considering that you get her from the pass and daily packs that I consider of decent value, but In my opinion she is not worth going solely for her
Rings
Generally speaking, I like Damage reduction rings on almost every line-up, and this line-up is no exception, also this line-up has lots of rings that can work with them:
- Blue rings are always budget rings don’t expect much result from them this.
- Ring of Night Wolf: I’m mixed about this ring since obviously this ring reduces your defense making you an even more glass canon than before, the main reason why u go with this ring is that it can’t work on the other line-ups that much.
- Ring of Deer is generally an okay ring, In my opinion, just a little RNG but it may be considered safer than the other purple rings which reduce your defense.
- Ring of Badger is a little bit Niche but I still somewhat like it, the calvary line-ups and the warrior archer line-up depend on secondary strike skills, which gives you an upper hand fighting against the neutral cavalry marches, or furthermore making the troop you counter easier to kill.
- Scorching Flame may be ok with this line-up since Lubu won’t take long to active his skill to trigger the buff.
- Tranquil Water is in my opinion the best ring in the game and it will work really well on this line-up especially if you use the purple rings that reduce your defense.
- Lofty Mountain is always decent but maybe not that much here since this line-up is a little bit bursty.
- Ring of Bear has the same words as Ring of Night Wolf except this ring may go to the other line-ups as well.
- Ring oc crow is versatile, just picked it up here because the Armor may help a little bit with the rings that reduce it.
- Radian Guardian can be decent on Lubu, but I somewhat don’t like it because of the overlapping that may happen between Attila and Rani, and this ring.
- Lords of Eastern Heaven, depending on my calculations normal attacks usually don’t do much damage, but this line-up with the crit strikes helps a lot with the normal attack damage, go with this ring if the other rings are occupied in other line-ups.
Let’s conclude this guide by Pros and Cons:
Pros
- Perfect damage team, Burst damage exists, AOE damage from ult exists, High damage from the secondary strike skills exists, decent normal attack damage that most of the line-ups don’t have.
- The heroes are F2P friendly regarding how you can obtain them.
- Almost any ring can work on them.
Cons
- Needs investment in skills, make sure you get Attila as well.
- Lubu may come a little bit late.
- Glass canon team.
- Most of the people run Pikemen (Pikemen counters Cavalry).
