How to Max Out Your Equipment’s Potential
By Shizuna / Shizuka.
Equipment in this game is made very simple by dividing it into male and female gear with tiers and stars determining the basic quality of it. There are however a few things you can do to improve your gear and maximize its potential:
Enhancement
In the Gear menu you have a variety of ways to improve your equipment. Do note that changing the equipment doesn’t mean you have to improve it all over. Everything carries over to the new gear and the only thing you have to be aware of is to reactivate the Marks.
First up is the Enhance option. Here you can spend Enhance gems to improve the basic stats of your equipment. Different tier has different max enhancement level and after hitting Lv 80, you need to use the gold-colored “Fine Enhancement Gem”, which is made by merging 5 of the purple “Common Enhancement Gem”.
The leveling cost will also gradually increase, so I recommend enhancing the equipment evenly. Accessory also has a differently shaped enhancement gem than equipment.
Reforge
Here you can give your equipment four different additional stats, like Lifesteal, ATK, Elemental DMG, True DMG, Armor Sunder, Reflect DMG, DEF Elemental Armor, True Armor etc. The stats are available in several colors, weakest being white, followed by green, blue, purple, orange, red and pink. With 4 purple or higher stats you also earn an additional DMG bonus.
Reforging costs “Blaze of Tempering”, which you earn from the Dwarven Smithy. You can also buy it in the Iridex Shop and Starbind Shop.
You can also lock upto 3 stats for an additional cost of “Blaze of Tempering” when reforging, so you don’t lose good stats (The costs from 0 to 3 locks are 2, 5, 12 and 20 Blaze of Tempering). When reforging, the quality and type of stats are randomly picked, so I recommend thinking about what stats you want to aim for and keep, as well as the quality.
Mark
Marks are carved into the equipment to give them extra stats, based on the rank it has. There are several sets of marks on each equipment that require different equipment Tiers to unlock, and you will be able to activate the lowest full set of Marks carved on your equipment.
The ranks of the marks are King, Draco, Heaven and God, so if you have two sets of Draco and one of King, you will be able to activate the King Mark-stats. Additional marks of a low rank Mark can be merged into the next rank.
Marks are obtained through events and the Mark Wheel in the “Daily Must Buy”-shop. For those that don’t want to spend RL money, you can do a 10x spin for 360 iridex (the cost of 9 spins).
Gems
Each equipment have upto 5 gem slots that unlocks by unlocking it with the “Rare Gem Puncher” bought in the Diamond Shop, and by increasing the tier of your equipment.
There are several gems available for general or specific equipment and accessories, and once placed in the equipment, they can be upgraded by using lower level gems or spending Starbind/iridex. The cost depends on how many lower level gems you have.
Of gems you have the following:
- Ruby (used for weapon, secondary weapon, ring necklace and bracelet)
- Saphire (used for wristguard, helmet, outfit, waistband, footwear and mark of oath)
- Terra Whisper (Weapon)
- Shadows Edge (Secondary weapon)
- Scorch Quartz (Ring)
- Aflame Quartz (Necklace)
- Mana Quartz (Bracelet)
Ruby and Saphire are the most common gems and can be used to upgrade all other gems in the equipment they are used for. You can earn gems in events or buy them in the starbind, iridex and diamond shops, as well as bidding for them in the guild auction.
Set
You have three types of sets (exorcist, soul slayer and god slayer) that give a unique set of bonus stats, depending on how many pieces of equipment/accessories you have in the set.
Each equipment and accessory has its own type of exorcist, soul slayer and god slayer materials needed to forge the set on it. The exorcist materials are also divided into male (blue) and female (purple) materials, so if you have acquired of the opposite gender of your character, you should try selling them in the Exchange Store, as well as buying the ones you need there.
(Do note that the price is fixed at 80 Diamonds per Exorcist material, and that the buyer can’t select the amount they want to buy of you, so if you for instance place 20 Exorcists Dagger materials in a single sale, the buyer has to buy them all and pay 1.600 Diamonds)
When you upgrade the equipment/accessory to a new tier, the set is deactivated and materials returned to your backpack, as the cost increases per tier. When upgrading to the next set,for instance from Exorcist to Soul Slayer, you have to spend both exorcist and soul slayer materials. Soul Slayer becomes available from T9 equipment.
Equipment and accessories have separate sets. Equipment, which comes in 7 pieces (weapon, 2nd weapon, helmet, armor, wrist, belt and boots) have three different bonus stats depending on how many you have in the set (2, 4 or 7 pieces), as well as the tier (same or higher), so if you have for instance 2 T8 and 5 T7 equipment with Exorcist forged, the T8 will get the 2-piece bonus, while the T7 equipment will get the 7-piece bonus.
Accessories have 3 different stat bonuses with the same conditions as equipment, just that the bonuses require 1, 2 or 3 pieces instead.
