Tips to Farm
The farm requires quite a lot of attention, I would recommend at least 3 farmers and ensure their schedules are staggered.
It takes a LOT of time for the villagers to make the field ready for planting, then they plant and water. By the time they are done with that they are exhausted, best to have another shift come in at that point. There is weeding to do, watering to do etc to keep the farms in good condition.
Ensure there is A LOT of access to water, its thirsty work for the farmers and the crops will require a lot.
Also remember you can help and you can carry multiple water pouches… I like to make my farms 3×5 because adding 1 water to each of the 5 plots in a row is nice and easy, then refill the water pouch and do the next row.
I would recommend at least 1 farmer per farming field you have with staggered schedules … and if you notice that they’re not keeping up you can have up to 6 farmers assigned to a farming hut.
The rains/storms will also naturally fill the farm plots so when its raining you only need to weed the plots. Also, one of the things I like to do is place rain collectors around the farm, 2 rain collectors then a fire and repeat the pattern, keeps them well stocked with water to add to the farm.
- Fiber is available year round.
- Beetroot is the only veg that grows in the winter.
The checkbox at the right of the farm plan determines if they will replant or only do the 1 crop. I toggle that checkmark when the seasons change so you don’t ruin seeds (you can finish off the crop most times out of season).
