Tips for Training Monsters
The Best Way to Train Your Monsters to Level Them Up Faster
It’s usually best to build training grounds with 3 or 4 connected areas for the adjacency bonus, so all trainees get the benefit of all trainers, IMHO.
You sort by ‘Physique,’ equip the trainers with the best ‘modest rake’ or any other physique-boosting held equipment you have, and hand-feed your trainers the highest Physique-boosting food you can get them (sausage-cheeseball entrée, bose jerky, triple-decker, etc.) while giving your trainees the best exp-boosting food you can make (with Phys/Stam/Int secondaries depending on where you plan on using them).
Meanwhile, breed your trainers/future trainers for Demon’s Physique, Drunkard, Omega, and Green Thumb at as high a rank as you can, then give them Physique-boosting food and train them as often as possible.
Dragons will usually be the best if you get all of the rest of those traits, since they can get the species-unique ‘Pure Blood’ which starts their Physique higher than most other species can manage.
Tips for Breeding & Traits
Breed same-species to Magic Saturation up higher so that their offspring are more likely to get better traits, shoot for Breeder’s Dream/Adaptable/Dragon’s Blood on one of your main breeders to increase positive outcomes in what they breed with. Different jobs on the farm or combat strategies benefit different traits/species, but generally you want Lamia’s Intuition, Demon’s Physique, Cyclops’ Stamina, and Harpy’s Swiftness for their attributes, and Wiz, Herculean, Atlas’s Will, and Child of the Wind to maximize those.
If using in combat, get the combat-only boosts like Battleborn/Precision Attacker/Float Like a Butterfly/Sting Like a Bee/Hardened etc. Otherwise, go for the farm ones. For trainers, shoot for Demon’s Physique, Drunkard, Omega, Herculean, and Green Thumb (If a Dragon, try to get Pure Blood as well) up to level 5. For Plankton Herders, Lamia’s Intuition, Lamia Mind, Scholar, Herder, etc., while trying to keep Magic Saturation as low as possible.
Ones you just want to milk, try to keep domesticity as high as possible (80+), get Beast of Burden, Abundant Body, and Quickshot. Try for a few Holstaurs with Milk Momma V, too. They’ll milk everything in the barn/pasture that they’re in, but will be out for three days every time that they do so.
If you get a Mill, you’ll want ones with optimized Swiftness in there. Weather Balloon is similar to the Plankton Herder role, just without worrying about domesticity and Herder.
If you just want maximum money, Dragons/Chimeras/Crabs with Loads C**, Beast of Burden, and Quickshot. You’ll be able to harvest and sell their Essence a lot on the market. Stock up and flood the market when the sell rate is anywhere above 50 korona per sell.
Essence Tips
- Wolf -> Works as steroids.
- Cat -> Makes hair grow faster; ingredient for sleep medicine to cure insomnia.
- Holstaur -> Grows muscles, aids healing; mostly added to vital drinks or medicine.
- Centaur -> Similar to above.
- Demon -> Fire manipulation; creates heat, maintains warm temperatures, enchants gear to be cold-resistant. Mostly used as fuel.
- Cyclops -> Rock manipulation; can be explosive but also usable as fuel in some artifacts.
- Harpy -> Wind manipulation, temperature cooling; used in artifacts that create wind and in generators.
- Lamia -> Light manipulation; essence glows naturally, so people hang it as a lamp. Also an ingredient in mental health medicine.
- Crab -> Water manipulation; used in moisturizers.
- Dragon and Chimera -> Contain high magical power. Currently no known way to use it; knowledge is beyond current understanding (only Purp knows).

- [Pirate’s Vault] requires a Diamondium Key which are rarely dropped from Skypirates through fights.

FAQ
How to buy upgrade shards for farm?
Talk to the wolf lady either on market day or when her stall randomly appears. Select the option circled to purchase the shards.
What is Loyalty?
Loyalty currently only decreases when you forget to feed your monsters. If you keep them fed, they’ll always stay at their current loyalty
Loyalty increases once per day, at the end of the day, as long as the monster is fed and you interacted with them in some way that day:
- Breeding with the player
- Being Pet
- Being added to the party (dungeon)
- Being harvested
- Talking to them
In addition to daily interaction loyalty, loyalty can also be increased some more each day if:
- The monster has the Friendly trait, and you pet them
- When eating the first time each day, hand fed, combat fed, or silo, a monster’s loyalty can be increased by higher quality food.
When does [x] building unlock?
- Hot House, Dock – Complete the quest ‘Investigate the Mine on F3’.
- Mill, Silo, Weather Balloon – Clear Tro’s Lab on F6 and return to Cloverton (player must rest after the quest).
- Plankton Pen – Defeat the Poachers and acquire the ‘Plankton Pen Blueprint’ from the camp on F8.
How to get specific traits?
It’s pure rng. The only thing that can be affected is the change for a trait’s tier to upgrade by having the MS over 50. Beast of Burden of course is a bloodline trait so it can be transferred to the off-spring.
These traits are also advisable:
- Breeder’s Dream
- +2% chance for new positive traits
- +2% chance for positive grade changes
- -2% chance for new negative traits
- -2% change for negative grade chance
- Adaptable – The monster’s children are 5% more likely to get a positive trait.
- Blessed Blood – The monster’s children are 5% more likely to increase the grade of their inherited traits.
How to get higher quality crops?
Higher quality crops can be obtained by maintaining crops with watering and fertilizing them. Once you harvest them they have a chance to come out as higher quality. Refine the crops in the mill into seeds and plant them. Repeat this process for as many times as you want for even higher quality ones.
Higher quality seeds can also be randomly obtained from the Dungeon chests or the Salt trader on F7.
Tip: ‘Bountiful Yields’ gives bonus crops chance and ‘Life Maker’ bonus seed chance while working on the field so these traits might be useful to have on a monster.
