Quick Guide to Farming in The First Year
Spring:
Mainly focus on upgrading Shrubstick and Speedweed. Shrubstick is good for Physique boosts (used for watering jobs and training). This plant can be re-harvested every 3 days, so you don’t need to worry much about food for monsters.
Speedweed is good for EXP boosts; it’s useful for making monsters level up quickly during training, which means you will get good monsters for working or fighting very early.
Summer:
Focus on Blanbala, Gempas, and Plemon. They’re good sources for making Juice, Vinegar, and Sugar to create Forbidden Fruit.
It’s the best food for increasing Stamina, Intuition, and Swiftness at the same time. If you have one more field, you can grow Bose crops to make Fried Bose → Bose Jerky, which is the best for Physique and EXP boosts.
Fall:
By this time, you might have more fields to grow crops. You can start growing anything you want now, but I particularly like Jellbabu (good Stamina boost crop). Chwon and Skolfruit have poor stat boosts, but they’re good sources for refining Vinegar and Juice.
Eggtrap is a good choice too because it’s the only plant that you can refine into Salt, and you can trade 5-star Salt with traders for 5-star food ingredients that you can’t farm right now.
Winter:
Unfortunately, most winter crops are poor or take a long time to grow, but you don’t have many choices. Turnog is fine. Flimflan and Lavapple are good; the others aren’t great, but you can grow them if you want since you have enough fields.
Remember about re-harvesting crops: it requires removing the old tree to regrow a new one. It might be time-consuming to upgrade them, but you can get 3-star seeds in 4F and 4-star seeds in 5F in Savannah. That’s a good way to save time. In the second year, you can grow anything you want.
