Easiest Advanced Combat Guide
Character Build
Start with high Dexterity for good initiative. This helps you act first in combat. Choose skills like Rifle, Critical Strike, Evasion, and Armor. Pick the Dodge This! feat. Aim for 6 Charisma to get two followers. Get three implants: Dexterity, Perception, and Squad Leader.

- Skills: Rifle, Critical Strike (Tag), Evasion, Armor
- Feat: Dodge This!
Use the Bullseye ability to knock down enemies. Then your team can attack the fallen enemy. Focus on leveling up Critical Strike. This skill is very important as it lets you ignore enemy armor.
Teammates
- Evans: Tag Crit Strike + Computers.
- Jed: Tag Crit Strike + Biotech.
- Fayne: Tag Crit Strike + Sneak + Lockpick + Electronics
Fayne is good at sneaking. She can quietly take out many enemies in big fights. Her lockpick and electronics skills help her open doors without being noticed. Fayne starts with an odd intelligence score. Later, you can boost her intelligence to 10 with an implant. This gives her one more tag skill. Use this last tag on the pistol skill to finish her build.
Character Growth
This advice works for the main character and companions. Get these skills in this order: Fast Draw, Personal Magnetism (main character only), Educated, a weapon skill, Critical Thinker, Second Wind, and Big Game Hunter if you have extra feats.
Fast Draw is important. It helps you act first in fights. When you go first, you can throw grenades or use your gun before using a cloaking device. With Fast Draw, your team usually acts before most enemies.
For the main character, Personal Magnetism lets you get an extra follower early on.
Fayne already has Educated, so start with the next skill on the list. She should probably choose Pistolero since she’s good with pistols.
Jed starts with Critical Drinker, so he should also start further down the list. He might want Shotgunner instead of Rifleman. He should get the Sarge skill too, but you can decide when.
Combat Strategy
In the early game, Jed wears a shield belt to take hits. The others wear distortion fields. Later, when you find four cloaking fields, everyone uses those.
In combat, you act first thanks to Fast Draw. Attack, but save two action points. Then use the cloaking field to turn invisible. The enemies can’t see you, so they just move to cover. On your next turn, move past the enemies and get behind their cover. They still can’t see you most of the time. On the third turn, attack with everything you’ve got. Usually, the enemies are defeated by this point.
This approach gives you a free turn where enemies can’t see you. It lets you get into good positions before attacking.
