Here you can find full list of competitive ships with pictures and descriptions.

List of Competitive Ships

Thrust Layouts

  • Orbital thrust
    • All forward thrust, can be used to orbit the opponent or to ram them.
    • Most efficient cost/speed
  • Avoider thrust/fastwall thrust
    • Allows for great maneuverability
  • There are many other ways to lay out thrust, but none are as common as these.

Ship Types

  • Ions
    • Ion rammer/orbiter
      • All or most forward thrust, concentrated beam in center
      • Typically small shields
  • Ion Cruiser/Barge
    • Forward and backward thrust
    • Can be large shields or small
    • Ions converge much farther away from the ship
  • Ion Burst
    • Not plausible in pvp, just added it in because it’s cool
    • Stores up energy in a constant feedback loop, then discharges and deals massive damage
    • Could be ion cruiser, rammer, or kiter
  • Ion Kiter
    • Has fast backward thrust
    • Constantly moves backwards to avoid getting in a close fight with the enemy
  • Tractor Beam Ion, or TB Ion
    • Typically rammer or cruiser
    • Uses Tractor Beams (TBs) to push enemy and allow for extra movement

Railfans

  • Railfan
    • Thick armor to stay alive
    • Typically 6-8 accelerator rails for maximum range
    • Often spins to spread-out damage (useless against rails) and prevent it from being ram-locked
  • Tractor Beam Rail, or TB Rail
    • Uses tractor beams to flip enemy
    • Can use very different thrust setups
  • Railkite
    • Uses backwards thrust to stay away from enemies
    • Can have mines, EMPs, nukes, and point defense as complements to the rails
  • Rail Orbiter
    • All forward thrust utilized to position around opponents and hit critical spots
    • Much stronger in team games than 1v1s
  • Alpha Rail Wall
    • Not very popular
    • Utilizes a lot of rails without the ability to sustain, hopes to kill the opponent within the first few shots
  • Mobile Spinner Fort/MSF
    • Spins in a circle to spread damage evenly through armor
    • Can have a core inside that isn’t attached which allows it to move in different directions
    • Other variants that use nukes instead of rails and large shields instead of armor
  • Rail Orbital Wall
    • Much like a rail orbiter, but a wall.

Deck Cannons

  • Deck Cannon Orbiter/Rammer
    • Fast, can get around to your back or side and destroy it. Also good in a head on match.
    • Typically shielded
  • Deck Cannon Brick/Orbiter/Rammer
    • Slow, relies on armor to stay alive
    • Lots of armor

Missiles

  • Missile Orbiter
    • Orbits enemy
    • Can have shields
  • Missile kiter
    • Utilizes back thrust to stay away from enemy
    • Can have a lot of point defense to stop rails and missiles
  • Missile Barge
    • Uses large amount of armor in the front to stay alive
    • Some variants can also kite
    • Can have other armament

Nukes

  • Nuke Orbiter
    • Orbits enemy or makes runs at enemy
    • Targeting nukes to hit enemy is hard
  • Nuke Avoider/Fastwall
    • Utilizes avoider thrust to line up nukes in a straight line
  • Nuke Barge
    • Uses heavy armor tip to soak up damage

Laser Walls

  • Fastwall/Avoider
    • Uses nimble thrusters to dodge enemy projectiles while dealing damage
    • Can also have cannons
    • Often mixes in disruptors to break shields
  • Orbital Fastwall
    • Uses super fast forward thrust to catch up with kiters and to stick itself to a weak part of an enemy ship
    • Can have other armaments, often disruptors to break shields
