Useful Tips and Tricks
Starting Tips
Try multiplayer mode first if you can. In this mode, you can unlock better weapons and characters as you level up. These items aren’t available to buy in the campaign mode until you unlock them. Playing multiplayer also helps you practice the same missions you’ll see in the main game.
Mission Advice
Each day in the campaign starts with 1 heat. Higher heat makes missions harder. It’s better to do loud missions first and stealth missions later when heat is higher. Warehouse missions are tricky at high heat because there are many cameras and guards.
A good daily plan is:
- Start with an armored car or truck mission
- Do a turf war activity
- End with a warehouse, jewelry store, or bank mission
Do character-specific missions last if they’re available. Some people think it’s good to do as many missions as possible each day. For stealth missions, bring only one team member. For warehouse missions at high heat, bring two members in case things get loud.
Baker gets two uses and gives a 50% bonus. Use him for high-value missions, especially stealth ones. You can also use Baker to prepare for big character-focused heists after his first two missions.
Team Setup and Equipment
For missions, you need two types of teams: one for fighting and one for sneaking. Some good team members are only available after finishing certain story missions. For sneaking, Vamp, Runaway, and Jupiter are good choices. They cost less and have useful abilities. Vamp and Jupiter can also help in fighting missions. Jupiter can carry three bags, which is special.
For sneaking, look for team members with the “ghost” ability. Bring a camera jammer if you’re new to the maps. Sensor grenades are useful too. Silent stun grenades are good for many situations.
For fighting, try to get team members with purple or higher ranking. A 4% or 5% cost is okay. Forehand is a good choice even though he’s blue-ranked. Look for abilities that increase gun damage, health recovery, or damage protection. For equipment, bring a turret or grenades. All grenade types work well.
For weapons, good choices are:
- Assault rifles: Timm 4 and AUG
- Shotguns: SPX and Practical
- Handguns: BOA and Hand Cannon
These weapons are strong and easy to use. Knives and throwing stars aren’t very useful.
Other Advice
Keep some drugs, electronics, and luxury items. These can lower setup costs for big jobs. Try to have about $500,000 worth. Sell extra items when prices are good (around 40% is best). If you have free time, train your team to level 4. This makes them stronger but costs a bit more.
