Basic Strategy
Here are some basic strategies for the game:
- Take over empty areas first. It’s the easiest way to expand, unless you’re really good at the game and trying to go fast.
- Strengthen your army as soon as you can. Touchdown will give you this goal, and it’s very important.
- Attack enemies that are the same strength as you or weaker. Don’t fight Cagnali right away or she might beat you, take your resources, and start attacking you. Hielo is a good first target for beginners because his troops are weak.
- Protect your areas from other bosses. But be careful not to send too many troops or you’ll pay more in army costs.
- Hire new soldiers every day. You need them to keep growing. Just don’t go broke doing it.
- Watch your heat level. If it’s high (5 badges), turf wars will be tougher and SWAT might ambush you.
When you can get better soldiers from the Goals tab, do that mission right away. It will be a yellow mission at a warehouse.
After finishing, call Touchdown from the Goals menu. Give him the coke instead of money (30k is cheaper than 100k).
In the example, Santo Springs is under attack by Hielo (yellow/blue flashing) and Bigsurf is under attack by Dollar Dragon (green/blue flashing).
The example shows defending Bigsurf alone, without bringing extra soldiers. That’s risky for new players though.
Once defended, Bigsurf turns back to fully blue.
To see how to attack, check the advanced strategy section. It’s not repeated here.
Advanced Strategy
Here are some advanced strategies for the game:
- Attacking is the best defense. If you take over an area that’s attacking you, you automatically win the defense without having to play it.
- The cutoff rule: If you separate one of a boss’s areas from the rest of their territory, you automatically capture it. For example, attacking Fair Fields would give you Fair Fields, but also Milton Rey since it would be cut off. This also automatically wins the defense against Milton Rey, all in one fight. You can cut off a maximum of one area at a time.
- Block other bosses from expanding by taking key empty areas. This is good for being aggressive or expanding faster, especially if you’re trying to finish the game quickly.
- Ideally, always attack with the minimum soldiers and defend with zero. This takes a lot of skill though. You’ll probably start by defending with around 10 soldiers, then get better until you only need Touchdown.
In the example attack on Hielo:
- The attack was successful, but 4 soldiers died (their car exploded).
- That single attack won Fair Fields directly, but also gave Milton Rey because it was cut off.
- It automatically won the defense against Milton Rey’s attack because of the cutoff rule.
