Loot and Scoot Build for Rogue

I’ll make it as basic as I can. This build can be viable with zero money down. Run Nightmare Castle, naked. Loot and scoot!

You can run a speed build with your equipment or a charm build with buff duration. King of Thieves stays active longer with the latter, considering it’s a buff.

Build

Active Abilities:

• Stealth
• Somersault

Passive Abilities:

• King Of Thieves
• Pickpocket
• Emergency Escape
• Stakeout*

(*You can replace Stakeout with lock pick expert or double jump).

Goal

Max profit, no losses!

If you run Stakeout, it will make it easier for you to chill and organize your bags or wait for cooldowns if you mess up. I personally run Lock Pick Expert 9/10 times specifically so I can maximize my castle runs and hit every locked chest that is available without wasting gold on lockpicks.

Strategy

Every time you pickpocket a mob (some mobs are invulnerable to pickpocketing, but most aren’t), you receive the “King of Thieves” buff which grants you 20 seconds of unbreakable stealth (jumping breaks it, as does using abilities), but it will not break if you open a chest, open a door, loot a body, etc.

Maximize buff time: pickpocket then immediately loot chests and open escape doors. You can wake up all of the skeletons in the room, somersault to pickpocket and gain an additional amount of buffs just by that alone.

Aim for every locked chest in the dungeon; you are not a fighter. Don’t engage with player combatants, but you may pickpocket them if you think you can get away with it. This is where Double Jump can come in handy – just in case stealth breaks against a player combatant, you may get away a lot easier and then go on with your day.

Notes

Keynote here, I haven’t died once since I started using this build. I run through Goblin Cave and Castle in Hell mode solo. I net anywhere between 1,500-5,000 a run depending on my luck. I use this build to fund my combat alts.

Fun Fact

Charm/Buff duration also should be focused. I have a bit of both and my KoT is 22s. Stealth is a “buff,” so also try to get a bit of charm equipment too. AGI/Charm stacking. Even flat buff duration rolls aren’t dead. It can be a rolled charm stat with buff duration and you’re good to go. This is very similar to the PC version of the build.

Why go in naked though? Wouldn’t agility and vigor buff equipment be good?

Max profit. Avoid all combat. You’re agile with no equipment on. The only time I would suggest wearing anything is if you want to run Hell mode, and that is only to meet the requirement. Then I would suggest maxing your speed. Vigor is only useful if you get caught, and the goal is to not be caught.
