Doomsday: Last Survivors – TC Guide (Speed Up VS Train Troops)

This is a new guide to TC for the Doomsday: Last Survivors game.

You may have heard that in TC, upgrading troops from T5 to T6 gives more points in phase 2 (train troops) than in phase 1 (speed up).

But is it really worth it?

  • Yes, with the correct height of training buff it is!

In the attached pictures you can see the necessary heights of buffs and best strategies for

  • T5 to T6
  • T4 to T5

In addition, you will find the threshold values in a table from when train troops brings more points than speed up for upgrades.

But what if you don’t have T5 to upgrade to T6?

No problem, I’ll tell you!

Let’s assume following scenario:

  • Your buff is 70%
  • You have 4x 20k expansion (max. 88k troops at once)
  • You have 100d speedups to burn
  • You train from scratch
  • You want the maximum points

First of all, training is linear – to train troops from T0 to T5 and upgrade them later to T6 does take the same amount of time as training them from T0 to T6.

Keeping this in mind, you can train a total of 122.400 T6 in this scenario (100d/70%) – and the question is: what to train in phase 1 and what to upgrade in phase 2?

I calculated two cases for comparison:

1st case: train T5 and upgrade later

  • Train 34.400 (122.400 – 88.000) T5 in phase 1
  • Train 88.000 T5 in phase 1 and take them to phase 2
  • Upgrade 122.400 T6 in phase 2
  • Points: 45.608.000

2nd case: train T6 and some T5

  • Train 34.400 (122.400 – 88.000) T5 in phase 1
  • Train 88.000 T6 in phase 1 and take them to phase 2
  • Upgrade 34.400 T6 in phase 2
  • Points: 49.921.725

As you can see, the 2nd case brings more points than the first one – so it is better to train the maximum capacity of troops (could go up to 52k x 4 = 208k) directly from T0 to T6.
