How to Mod
- Download FModel.
- Once downloaded, extract the .exe and open it.
- On the top left corner, press Directory > Selector.
- Click on ADD UNDETECTED GAME, press the three dots (…) and find the Sparking Zero root folder (with the game’s .exe), select the UE 5.1 version, then press OK.
- You should now have all the pakchunk files on your screen. On the top of the screen, open Settings > General and enable Local Mapping File.
- Open the path and place your downloaded Mapping File (located at the top of this guide).
- Only if you want to extract the models, still on the settings screen, go to Settings > Models and change the Mesh Format to:
- UEFormat (uemodel) for downloading the meshes.
- ActorX (psk) for downloading the armatures.
- Lastly, back at the Directory tab, open AES and input the AES key (located at the top of this guide).
- On Loading Mode, at the top left of your screen, select All and then click Load.
(Make sure to do this every time you boot up FModel if you want to see all the results).
And you’re done!
Helpful Information
- The game’s character models, textures, materials and animations are located at Sparking Zero > Content > SS > Characters.
- The models themselves are in (ID Number) > 1p, and the materials and textures are inside 1p. MAKE SURE to click packages once you select 1p!
- To download a model, select all of the SK_ files, right click and Save Model.
- Remember, materials extracted from FModel can’t be added to an Unreal project, but textures can!
- On the topic of textures, most characters only have basic textures like outlines, eyes and body marks (with a few exceptions). To edit a character’s colors you’ll need to use Unreal Engine 5.1!
- Finally, when double clicking a model (like an SK_ file) you can instantly press Z, then select another file to open both in the same preview screen!
