Dustland Delivery – How to Edit Change Your Truck (Save File Editing)

Here is a little tutorial how to edit your savefiles to change your truck.

How to Edit Savefiles

By Emteter Darv

I will part this tutorial into 4 parts:

  • Visuals
  • EnginePower
  • Max Speed
  • Load Capacity.

For save editing I used Notepad++ program.

Visuals

Let’s begin with Visuals. You can change your visuals, but bear in mind that visuals will depend on how many upgraded You made in Your truck(in repair shop to be precise, not truck parts). If You drive a starter truck, and want to change visuals for “Speeder” or “Juggernaut” find Your save files. Use search option and find :”CarType”:””. Change it to: “CarType”:”2″ or “CarType”:”3″. Number 2 is heavy truck and 3 is speeder. If You are driving speeder or heavy truck and want to have looks of starter truck, leave it like this: “CarType”:””

EnginePower

Now to the EnginePower or HP if You will. To change Your horse power find: “EnginePower”:7 Info: This number is set for starter truck on max upgrade. If You use other truck, number will be different, so try to remember how many HP You have at the moment. Simply change a number. Remember that 1HP is more\less +8km\h. Remember that.

Max Speed

To change it find “Speed”:56.0 Note: This is max speed for starter truck without any driver bonuses. Depending on Your truck model, number will be different. Simply change the number. If You use calculation that 1 HP is 8km\h, then 9 HP will be(more\less) —> 72km\h. I also noticed that if You change only speed, without HP, Your speed will stay the same until You change both(I may be wrong or done something wrong by any chance). Warning!!!! Your save file contains much more lines with “Speed” so be carefull to edit the correct one.

Load Capacity

To change number of load Your truck will be abble to carry, find: Load. Try to remember Your current max load available. It may look like this: “Load”:22000 Simply edit the number. Warning!!!! If you don’t have all upgrades done, and decide to edit this number then make upgrades, it may break Your game(happened 2 times for me), so be carefull. EDIT: For those who want to change their hull points and comfort:

Open Your save file, find “Durable”:310,”MaxDurable”:310}}

Note: This is the max number i have on my truck, best thing to do is to check in game how much current and max hull do You have now.

Edit number and save. For comfort find: “Comfort” and change number.

Warning! If You don’t have maxed out truck it MAY BE possible that next upgrade will corrupt Your save, same with truck slots parts. Use with caution.

And that’s it. I am not sure are there any other aspects that must be edited to make it work without any crashes or other problems, so You’re using it at Your own risk.

And always remember to do save copy just in case something goes wrong. Do it even before the smallest change.
