Changing Your Ally’s Equipment

How to Give Your Allies Better Gear
It’s helpful to know how to change your allies’ equipment, especially at the start of the game. If you pick a little girl as your starting companion, giving her better gear will help keep both of you safe.
The little girl starts with basic equipment, but you can make it much better:
What to Change:
Weapon: Replace it with a “stone weapon” from the mason’s table.
- Even better options: long sword or hand axe if you can find them.
Body Armor: Replace with a “Breastplate” from the mason’s table.
- Granite is easy to find and makes good armor.
- A granite breastplate gives about +8 Protection Value (PV).
Note: PV means Protection Value, and DV means Dodge Value. These numbers show how well armor protects you.
How to Change Ally Equipment
- Select your ally and press the mouse wheel to choose “trade”.
- View their inventory – items with “E” are currently equipped.
- Move items from your inventory to theirs to equip them.
Important Tips:
- Some characters like the little girl have special skills (like “Two Handed”).
- If you try removing certain items, they might refuse with “don’t touch”.
- Keep trying to remove items and they’ll eventually give them up (but you’ll lose some karma).
- Knowing this helps manage your team’s strength and mission difficulty.
- Two-handed weapons often give better stats for early game.
Equipment Tips:
To change armor (like breastplate):
- First take away their current equipment
- Then give them the new armor
Protect your equipment by setting:
- Mouse wheel > Talk to Target > Actually… > Don’t use shared equipment
For early fights, let allies stand in front while you support them with thrown weapons. This works better for survival.
