Forgotten but Unbroken – Missions Demo Tips and Tricks

Useful Tips and Tricks

In the first mission, just run. No one in your squad can die and staying alive is the main goal. You can stop and fight if you want a tough challenge, but it’s not easy. Maybe try it on your second or third time playing.

Always read the mission description before starting. It gives you important info, mostly the tips on the left side of the screen.

Check the mission goals every time. They tell you about extra goals that can make each playthrough more interesting.

Read the tips on the loading screen. They give helpful info about the game’s features and mechanics to keep your team alive.

Press the Space bar to speed up the enemy’s turn.

Use the middle-mouse wheel to change how your soldiers throw grenades. It’s useful if there’s something blocking your unit. You can throw over obstacles this way.

Click the ‘Leave Area’ button when you get to the exit point, which is a rectangular shape.

Hire new recruits at your HQ by clicking the red button.

More soldiers in your squad means more chances to shoot enemies, heal your team, find secrets, and more!

When you build the Armory at your camp, use a weapon master and set fixing weapons to ‘automatic’. The weapon master will fix weapons automatically based on how damaged they are. But remember, you need tools to repair weapons. If you run out of tools, your weapon master can’t fix or clean your weapons.

When you’ve done everything at your base, speed up time. Don’t worry, if something important happens, the game will automatically go back to normal speed so you don’t miss anything.

Before every mission, make sure your team has the right gear. Click on the ARMORY and take the equipment you want. Use the “quick slots” in your units’ inventory for things like ammo. If you use it, reloading costs half the AP (Action Points). This can be really important during a mission. You can have up to 3 quick slots, depending on what clothes/uniform you’re wearing.

Take a sapper on every mission if you can. The sapper is the only one who can see and defuse enemy mines. They can also place up to 5 mines if you’re defending. The red icons circled in the screenshot show where enemies will attack from. There are 2 directions in this specific mission. If you know where they’re coming from, you can place mines in the right spots [and it’s SUPER fun when you guess right!]

Be careful with friendly fire when using the heavy machine gun nest. It has a long range and can hit your own units if they’re too close. Use it as soon as possible before your allies get near, because it’s deadly for anything in its path.

Remember, the heavy machine gun nest works best with the heavy gunner. Other units have a penalty for using it, with the medic having the worst accuracy. This is similar for light machine guns like the Browning or Bren. Give these weapons to a heavy gunner, since he can use them really well with the right perks.

In some missions, you have to blow up a specific object. You’ll need explosives for this. You have some at the base, so it’s good to bring them. But in most cases, you can also find the explosives you need during the mission. Use the left ALT key to highlight interactive items while playing to find them.

Always send your sniper to the highest positions to get the most out of their marksmanship perks.

Shoot at the enemy whenever you can. Don’t worry if you miss. Every shot at them makes them lose courage and they might panic. [another tactical part of our game!] This doesn’t work on the elite SS divisions though. They’re excellent soldiers with high morale. Keep in mind your men can lose morale and panic too. Every successful kill will raise your soldiers’ morale a bit.

Always check your active and passive perks. Some of your characters may have passive perks that need a pistol as a secondary weapon. Don’t waste it!

The best strategy is to start every turn with the heavy machine gun nest. You can hurt a lot of enemy troops and finish them off with the rest of your group.

If an enemy is shot and starts bleeding, they’re done. They’ll bleed out eventually, so save your bullets for another target. Your own troops can start bleeding too, but your medic can stop it and even give a small morale boost. Medics are important!

If you press ‘left ALT’ during the mission, it will show you objects you can loot. Sometimes this is important for extra mission goals, like if you need to find important documents. This helps you see where the documents are and also spot explosives that might be useful.

Build stoves in the tents at your base HQ and light a fire in them. This will make a cozy and warm place for your team, and the morale in the camp will go up. If you don’t build them or keep the fire going, morale will slowly go down. Then, someone who’s feeling down might decide to deal with it by leaving.

Be careful with the temporary tent at your base. It’s just a temporary fix if you don’t have enough free beds in your main tents. The game will automatically put a unit in this tent. It will be the unit that got to the base last. Remember, this is only temporary and this tent doesn’t provide any comfort or warmth. This can make the unit lose a lot of morale and then leave. Build another tent as soon as you can and move your unit from the temporary tent to the main one.
