How to Complete Augment Event (F2P)

The Augment Mission Event is a 20 day event that is available once you complete augment-1, which is available after Expansion-3 in the Fortress Augmentations menu. (Navigation: Fortress -> Info -> Augmentation top right).

For optimal event results, do not complete aug-1 until you complete the pre-requisites, listed below.

The biggest rewards from this event are two Legend engines. Engines are necessary for meta Sanctum Fort HP builds, which are generally used from just after early-game and until late-game — where you have t5 (a.k.a 10*) green/rare heroes.

Note: Due to Path of Heroes, you now only need T5 greens before stopping Fort Build and going ATK heroes build.

Throughout the duration of this event, there are 4 main roadblocks preventing you from completing this event.

You need 600 railroad and merfolk dungeon keys.
You need to reach Augment-5, requiring about 400 Booster Crystals (200 to 1000, based on RNG), therein 500/500 Barrage/Defensive Crystals (respectively).
You need 75 Graveyard tickets.
You need to craft a Legendary engine, using 15 turbochargers in your engine-room facility.

Strategies, and “Pre-requisites” to complete are as follows.

Pre-Requisites

Save up at least 400 boost crystals, and upgrade Canning and Gear Factory(s) (facilities) to level 5.
Upgrade Engine Room to level 5 after Canning & Gear Factory(s). Can be done during event.
Save up loot from stages, collection, and stage pass for event.
Can be acquired during the event as well.
In total, you need an estimated 30,000 to 60,000 Loot to obtain all necessary keys, depending on RNG (Approximate, not verified).
Save up railroad and merfolk keys to the maximum (~10) before unlocking event.
Save up 150 friend coins, over 5 to 6 days before event (< 30 or > 30 coins daily, respectively).
Do not buy affinity boxes until after event rewards, focus friendship points on graveyard.
Do not unlock the event on any of monday/tuesday/wednesday — meaning ONLY unlock it on thurs/fri/sat/sun. This allows optimal # of Graveyard tickets; refer below.

Dailies

Keys

(Daily) Buy all railroad and merfolk keys (total 9 each) from Guild Shop, for 1200 guild medals “Tokens of Unity”

Currency is obtained from guild raid and every daily reset based on raid rank.

(Daily) Buy any railroad/merfolk keys from Arena Shop, if available. x1 per 20 medals; x5 per 100 medals.
(Hourly-ish), Buy any railroad/merfolk keys from Reroll Shop, if available. x1 per 300 gems; x4 per 1000 gems.
(Every ~5-7 Hours) Buy all railroad/merfolk keys from Traveling Merchant, appearing every 5 am/pm and 11 am/pm (EDT Time). Merchant visits multiple stages, wherein keys are sold for 5 per 1k gems if available.

Boost Crystals and Barrage/Defensive Crystals are also sold.

Push your stage daily and online-afk farm for Loot and Boost Crystals. Trade Loot for keys and Boost Crystals for Barrage & Defensive Crystals.

Augments

(Hourly-ish) Claim augment crystals every few hours. Produce x999 of them in every slot. GET LVL 5 CAN/GEAR FACTORY
(Every 5-7 Hours) Traveling Merchant: Boost Crystals; Barrage Crystals, and Defensive Crystals.
Push stages for Boost Crystals; mentioned above.

Graveyard

(Weekly) Buy all graveyard tickets from friend shop, for 150 Friendship Points
If you unlock the event on the correct day (thurs/fri/sat/sun), you can earn up to 12 tickets, across 4 weekly resets
If necessary (and available), buy graveyard tickets from events
worst case, pay $ to buy daily engine/graveyard pack for about $5 for 2 tickets.

Engines

(Immediate) Craft purple/epic Engine, which requires six Spark Plugs, unlocked at Graveyard 51
Craft as many green/blue Engines as possible, for repeat quest (80 greens/quest) giving Turbochargers
Craft legendary Engine using 15 Turbochargers. It takes a full day to craft so make sure to have time. You gain 12 from the event, a minimum of 1 from the repeat missions, and need at most 2 from 2 purchases of the daily Engine/Graveyard pack.
