Soil Quality Explained
At first, the soil is poor. Only crystal wheat and tough wild plants can grow. As you take care of your garden, the soil gets better and can support more plants.
Plants need water and food to grow. They use both from the soil every day. Use a watering can to add water to the ground.
Fertilizer gives the soil lots of food right away, but it makes the soil worse over time.
Compost gives a little food, but it makes the soil better over time.
To make compost, put plant parts in a composter. You can build a composter after you get instructions from the Garden Ghost.
As the soil gets better, the ground becomes greener. Really good soil makes its own food and keeps half the water each day. When your garden gets greener, you’ll see animals come back too!
