Mastering EX and OP Actions for Use on Any Gunpla
Unlocking Synthesis
To use EX/OP Skills, you need to be able to increase your Gunpla’s level and Rarity. This becomes possible when you reach Chapter 3 in the Main Story. At this point, you can use the Synthesis function.
Two types of Plastics become available:
Parts Enhance Plastics:
- Used to increase part levels
- Come in ranks I to VI
- Higher ranks give more enhancement
- Part level cap increases as you progress in the story
- Maximum level is 50 after completing all Story Missions
Parts Evolve Plastics:
- Used to increase part rarity
- Come in ranks I to IV
- Maximum rarity is 5 Gold Stars
- Most parts start at 5 Purple Stars or below
Important notes:
- Plastic drops depend on mission difficulty
- Hardcore Difficulty missions before Chapter 3 Mission 1 don’t drop Plastics
- For Plastics from these early missions, play on Extreme Difficulty or higher
Remember, only Story Missions affect level and rarity caps, not Quests.
Getting More Plastics
After Chapter 3 Mission 1, you’ll get Plastics regularly by playing the game. Here are some tips to get more:
Use a Breaker Booster:
- This almost doubles the Plastic you get in a mission
Break your opponents:
- Each enemy has a limit on how much Plastic it can give
- After reaching this limit, they’ll only drop parts, not Plastic
- You can get more parts by letting enemies reform before breaking them again
Use Survival Mode:
- This becomes available later in the game
- It gives you a lot of Plastic quickly
- You fight up to 50 waves of enemies
- Using a Breaker Booster here is very effective
- Example: Getting to Wave 9 with a booster gives almost as much Plastic as three regular missions, but faster
Use these tips to get more Plastics and upgrade your parts faster.
Mastering EX/OP Actions
Increasing the Rarity of any Gunpla Part with an EX/OP Action that has this symbol next to it:
Look for parts that have a special symbol next to their EX/OP Action. If you increase the rarity of these parts, you can master that skill. This means you can use the skill on any Gunpla, even if you don’t have the original part equipped.
For example, I used Gundam AGE-FX legs to master the C Funnels EX Action. Now I can use this skill on any Gunpla I want. To use a mastered skill:
- Go to the EX Actions Menu
- Choose an empty slot
- Select the EX Skill you want to use
- Pick the part that has that skill
This way, you can use your favorite skills on any Gunpla you build.
Using Mastered EX/OP Actions
It’s easy to use mastered skills – just equip them and you’re ready to go. But there’s one thing to keep in mind about how it looks in the game.
When you use a skill from a part you don’t have equipped, the game shows a wire frame of that part on your Gunpla. This happens even if you have the actual part equipped.
For example, I have the Gundam MK-II AEUG backpack on my Gunpla. In the EX Skill menu, I can choose between:
- The mastered skill from my Gundam MK-II AEUG
- The regular skill from the parts I’m wearing
If I use the mastered skill, the wire frame shows up, even though I’m already wearing the right part.
This visual effect might not be what you want, so it’s good to know about it when deciding which skills to use.
