Quick Guide to Cleric Build
By Trout Nemesis.
Brief Explanation: I wanted to make the cleric weapon as big as possible primarily and secondly hit as often as possible. Why? Because I wanted to distribute as many stacks of debuffs and elemental effects as possible.
Disclaimer: I don’t pretend this is cleric’s best build. I don’t claim that my choices in gear and traits optimally achieve my goals.
- Yellow Box = Double Potion
- Red Box = Regular trait pick and Memory Potion
Gear Explanation:
- Head: More damage, attack speed and multistrike are good. And the self-damage isn’t impactful especially with cleric’s self-healing.
- Neck: More stacks is a goal.
- Finger1: Having flame chance is good.
- Finger2: Having electrified chance is good.
- Feet: These boots can proc with the head piece’s damage. I think this is funny. I never used these boots before and now I am because of the head piece. It creates a little safe zone occasionally and mostly its fun.
- Chest: More flame stacks is good.
- Hands: More hits is good.
- Mark: Norseman. As far as I can tell Norseman’s mark is the best choice for adding range and area and multistrike to the main weapon. Also a bit more damage percentage is nice.
Abilities:
(Listed top down in kinda priority)
- Dragon’s Breath: For flame stacks. Build however you like.
- Kugelblitz: For damage and a few stacks. Build for crits and damage.
- Radiant Aura: For stacks of flame and debuffs. Build for area and attack speed.
- Transfixion: For debuffs. Build for crit procs then regular hit procs.
- Lightning: I picked it up because I had and extra banner and electric stacks are nice.

Q&A
Why didn’t I focus on one element for more optimization on maxing out elemental stack limits?
- The neck has a chance to work for each elemental effect. If I have two different elemental stacks on 1 mob I get twice the chance to get value. You could argue to swap out Radiant Aura for Avalanche because of this reasoning. I didn’t. Just went this way instead.
If you’re taking Norseman’s Proficient Stance(Balanced) and even spending a double potion on the IV trait, why aren’t you using the neck piece Scars of Toil to take advantage of all that extra HP?
- I didn’t want to. I’ve played a lot of builds with that neck recently and wanted to try something else out. Swapping out for Scars of Toil is very likely a better choice especially by late game.
