Secrets to Extra Progression
By Skyreach
Starting with an unformatted brain dump, which will eventually be refined into a beautiful thread.
Refinement All-Legend Bonus is Cumulative
Refinement stones are the most premium currency in Headless, and this is why. Any time you can unlock an effect for all Legendary+ refinements for a Companion/Head/Equipment/Soul, this effect is cumulative for your account, regardless of whether or Naught that companion is active.
Using Tech Ball to start a fight (One-Time bonuses persist through a swap)
Tech Ball is great for pushing, and the only companion who has a Time-Extension Refinement. If you start a floor/boss with Tech Ball, then swap it out as soon as the match has started, you will still benefit from the time extension.
Useful for:
- Tavern boss
- Pushing late stages when lacking some DPS
- Combat-based events (e.g. Doomsday)
- Bosses that don’t 1-shot you
Rapidly Drop Stages using Raids
Farm city! With the new format allowing us to push much faster, it’s Naught practical to farm at the highest available stage. Waiting for timeouts is tedious, but there’s a workaround: If you are already timed out (i.e. you can see the challenge button), fight a raid that one-shots (e.g. Companion Dragon) and this loss will drop you to the next 24/49 below your active stage.
This can be done several times in succession taking only a minute to drop 3-4 floors bringing you back to 5-7s clears. Please note this does not work if you’re currently fighting the highest stage, you need to drop down once before this will work.
Important note
It’s not the QN comp you modify, but your regular team’s comp. If you start the match with your vanilla comps having Tech Ball, you can replace it afterwards. It does get flaky when you do this; I find my other units die quickly; but if extra time is what you need it does work.
