Hero Tale – Dual Talent Guide

Quick Guide to Dual Talent

Let’s start with explaining how Dual Talent works: It increase your Combat value by 8% of your base Ranged and your Ranged value by 8% of your base Combat, this is rounded to the closest integer.

So what is “base” referring to? The base stat used here is your stat level (pic1) + skill tree levels (pic2).Add those together, multiply by 0,08,round to the closest integer and this will be the value to add to the other stat.

Should I Pick it?

  • Wrong question!

When should I pick it?

Good question mate, but we need to go deep in math to answer that:

  • First thing, hope you realized all this makes sense if you intend to focus on only one fighting style,if you want to level both this guide is useless for you.
  • Now that you have decided what you want, the first thing to realize is having 7 on your base secondary stat will give you +1 on your primary stat. Simple!
  • If you think a skill point is worth +1 on your primary stat and you have 7 or more in your base secondary stat then go for it!

But this is only the tip or the iceberg.Since this is retroactive we will have to deal with it a lot in the future and keep a good and precise ratio from both stats to maximize the gain.

Let’s start with the basic:We need to know how much EXP is required every level and luckily for you I have the formula: Every level require 10% more EXP then the previous.

So if you want to know how much EXP total is required to reach X level refer to pic3 and to know only the EXP required for a level use pic4.Please note that those formulas are not accurate at 100% but are precise enough for us to consider them.

Now that we know that, how can we abuse the Dual Talent skill? To put it simply,we just want to use less EXP possible to have a +1 on our main stat.

So when is better to gain one level on main stat over gaining 12,5 levels on secondary stat?

Well, depends.First thing we need to consider the bonus is rounded to the closest integer,so having 7 stats or 18 in your secondary will still give you +1 on primary. So we need to keep secondary stat at those levels: 7, 19, 32, 44, 57, 69(nice), 82, 94, 107, 119…

Now,considering we pick up 12.5 levels at a time,we need to see when a level on primary stat require more EXP then taking those 12,5 on secondary, and if you trust me or you hate math (or both) just follow pic5 suggestion.

If you don’t want to be optimal at 100% and want an easy and relaxing strategy to keep in mind, just keep your secondary stat 20 levels under your primary stat.
