HorrorVale – All Secret Bosses Guide

Every Secret Boss and How to Find Them

By Dr. Napkin.

Act 0

There’s an easy-to-find secret boss in Act 0, but it’s better to wait before fighting it. It’s best to have a full team for all these bosses. To find this boss, you need to do a few things. First, defeat the paranormal lamp. Then go to Alice’s room and save at the bed. After that, go to the basement in your house. The basement is located…

That’s all you need to do to find the boss. Things get harder after this, so be prepared. This boss should be easy if you have all the characters from Act 1. You might even be able to win with just Jekyll and Wraps. Bolt’s shockwave attack is useful for this fight.

Act 1

The secret boss is actually in Act 1, but you need to finish Act 1 before you can fight it. This is true for most secret bosses. After beating Act 1, play through Act 2 until you meet Shelby. She’ll tell you about the roads opening. Then go back to Act 1 and find Bonz. He’s outside the inn at Boo Boulevard. Bonz will give you a key. Take this key to a specific location.

You can walk through a hard-to-see area to find a shed. Use the key to open it. This boss can be tough if you’re not prepared. Know your elements and have a good team to beat it. After defeating the boss, check Jiang’s shop. There will be a new item for sale. You’ll need this item later on.

Act 2

In Act 2, you’ll need to do a lot of work to find this boss. You can access it once Poe moves and you can enter the caravan. Then you need to play games to earn Poekens. It might be easier to just buy Poekens, but this will cost about 10,000 candy. You need 500 Poekens to buy the Mirror Ring. Put on the Mirror Ring and go to the room right of the prize counter. Walk into the center mirror.

This takes you to a strange version of the carnival. Here, play games until you get 4 special Poekens. Use these to buy a gem from the person at the prize corner. Make sure to save before you buy the gem, because you can’t save after. Getting the special Poekens is harder than the normal games, so be prepared.

Act 3

This act has a great secret boss, but it takes time to reach. You need to do a few things first:

  • Recruit Flynt and Jack. This is easy to do.
  • Finish Act 3.

After that, go to the Gloomy Basin with Flynt in your team. Find all the torches in the area. You won’t be sent back to the start if you take a wrong path. If you are, you’re there too early and need to progress more in the game.

There’s a maze in the Basin. At each dead end, you’ll find a torch to light. After lighting all torches, switch Flynt for Jack. Then go to the line of torches. These light up as you light the other torches. It’s the only path that isn’t a dead end or the entrance.

Choose your team for the fight, but remember Jack must be in it. Once you’ve done all this, you’re ready to fight the boss.

Act 4

The secret boss in Act 4 is easier to find than the others. Here’s what to do:

  • First, beat Act 4. Then go to the crew zone hallway. At the far end, you’ll see an elevator. Take it down. You’ll find a room with a very bright door. Someone outside says the room is haunted.
  • Next, go to the withering woods. Look for Minerva, a pink ghost in one of the graveyards at “Deep Woods C.” Buy the pendant she sells and put it on.
  • Go back to the bright door you saw earlier. Now you’re ready to fight the boss.

Post Game

There’s one more boss after Act 4’s secret boss. You’ve been collecting gems from the other bosses, and they have a purpose.

First, make sure you’ve recruited Mizure. Then complete her second quest. This opens a strange tomb in the mountains.

At the end of the tomb, you’ll find a door with four gem-shaped holes. Put the gems you’ve collected into these holes and go inside. You’ll find a mask in the room. Put on the mask.

Now go to Poe’s caravan. Just enter the caravan, and you’ll be ready to face the final secret boss.
