IdleMMO – Beginners Guide

Starter Guide for New Players

By Codes.

Here you will find quick and brief guide on what I personally recommend you start with.

  • TLDR: Level all skills to 25.

Starting in the first area, level mining, smelting, fishing, cooking, woodcutting, and forging (optional) to 10. Coal is very valuable. Sell metal bars for extra gold.

For forging, use the wood you cut to make bows. You can skip forging and sell the wood, but leveling it helps you forge early tools. Sell the bows to vendor for gold. Leave out alchemy for now.

Move on to the second location when ready. Keep leveling skills until you need to move to the next location and all skills are 25. Now you have a good feel for the game. You can continue on this all-around path, focus on a single job, or try hunting and dungeons.

By leveling those skills to 25, you will also increase your strength, defense, dexterity, and speed, making hunting easier and increasing dungeon success rates. Cooked fish will restore health. When hunting, sell your loot OR start alchemy. Many alchemy recipes need enemy drops, which boost other skills. The first area is great for quick enemy kills and drops.

Don’t forget about world bosses. They provide combat XP and drops like pet eggs, which are valuable.

Check out dungeons for better tools (pickaxe, axe, fishing rod). Dungeon drops give one-time-use recipes to forge these tools. Alchemy is different: once you learn a recipe, you can make unlimited items if you have the materials. Unlock additional characters soon and save for a membership. Check other guides for details on alts and getting rich.

At the end of the day, play how you like. It’s about the long haul, patience, consistency, and having fun.

Gameplay FAQ

Adding more commonly asked questions from beginners.

What class should I pick?

Shadowblade and Warrior are often highly recommended. Forsaken is the hardcore class, only recommended for those who like pain and suffering with no benefits. But don’t stress too much as any class can use any weapon.

Where do I find the next tier of ore, wood, fish, etc.? Where is the bank? Where is the shrine?

From your menu, you can access the map. When previewing locations, you can see what items are at each location and whether there is a bank or shrine there.

What’s a membership? Is it worth getting?

Memberships are absolutely worth getting. They offer various in-game benefits such as increased idle time, exp boost, skill efficiency, tax benefits, and much more! You can even use your alts to farm gold and buy memberships off the market from other players.

What’s an alt? What’s the point of alts?

Alts are additional characters you can have. You can have up to 3 characters idle at a time. Often, people use their alts to support their main character by gaining gold. 4th and 5th characters are often just used to collect dailies.

What class should my alts be?

There is some flexibility here. Often, players use their alts to support their main. Like smelting? Have a Miner or two. Like forging? You’ll want some Lumberjack action. Is alchemy your thing? Then maybe even do some combat with your alts. Going for pure end-game gold? Then you’ll want two Anglers, as they are the best for end-game gold right now. A general recommendation is Main/Miner/Angler.

Is the bank shared between all characters?

No, each character has their own individual bank.

What determines dungeon success?

Your chance of successfully completing a dungeon depends on your combined protection and attack power. Your strength, defense, armor, and weapons will determine this.
