Ever wonder what are these little people that can be found in cottages in many islands? This guide will explain their function and how to find them in both New Lands and Two Crowns. Hermits have the ability to make unique modifications to some buildings depending on type of hermit.

General Information for Hermits

Hermits are found in cottages and require “payment” which varies from game. You can also pay a coin for them to ride on the back of your mount as it is required for you to use that hermit on specific buildings.

If you brought the hermit outside of your Kingdom’s walls during night or a counterwave attack, the hermit will dismount and walk back to the safety of the Kingdom’s walls. Be advised that the greed is capable of kidnapping the hermit.

New Lands

New Lands hermits can be unlocked via a signpost and can be found on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th islands once you paid at the signpost. Only one hermit can join you on the boat escape if it is riding on the back of your mount.

• Ballista Hermit can be unlocked from the 3rd island and requires a builder and a Tier 4 Archer Tower. Ballista can one-shot Masked Greedlings and Floaters but vulnerable to the latter.
• Bakery Hermit can be unlocked from the 4th island and can upgrade a Tier 4 Archer Tower into a Bakery. Once built, you can pay 1 coin to make bread which will lure Vagrants from their camps to the bakery. Don’t forget to give the vagrants coin otherwise they’ll eat your bread for luring vagrants and you need to make more.
• Knight Hermit can be unlocked from the 5th island and can upgrade a Tier 4 Archer Tower into a Knight Tower. Once built, it allows you to have +1 Knight in the direction of where the tower was built (if built on right side of Kingdom, it will go right).

Two Crowns

Two Crowns brings back all of the Hermits listed in New Lands though their unlock requirements have changed, location of where they can be found, function changes, costs, and more. There are also a few new hermits while some are unique only to Norse Lands. All Hermits you have unlocked and are with you presently will now join you when you pay coins to depart on the boat. You can also press left/right in rapid succession to force a hermit to get off of your mount.

• Ballista Hermit. Same function as New Lands but cannot one-shot floaters. Can be found on the first island requiring 3 gems to unlock. Does not appear in Norse Lands.
• Stable Hermit can be unlocked on the 2nd island and cost 1 gem to unlock. The Stable Hermit can upgrade a tier 2 farm into a Stable for 8 coins. Stables can still be used by farmers but slightly less space and can hold up to 3 mounts you have unlocked with gems (or reunlocked with coins on subsequent reigns). You will need more than 1 stable in order to have more mounts. Norse Lands only: The hermit only appears in the 4th island and you need to hire a rancher (limit 3 per stable) in order for mounts to appear.
• Bakery Hermit. Same function as New Lands but now costs 4 coins to make bread. If a vagrant consumes bread, they will automatically turn into a citizen. Appears in the 3rd island (2nd island for Norse Lands) and costs 4 gems.
• Warrior Hermit (formerly Knight Hermit). Same function as New Lands but found on 4th island for 2 gems and creates a Squire instead.
• Horn Hermit can be found on the 5th island for 3 gems (1st island for 1 gem in Norse Lands). Can upgrade a Tier 4 or 5 wall to add a horn, which calls all troops from all sides to that specific wall.
• Fire Tower Hermit (Norse Lands only) can be found on the 3rd island for 3 gems and can turn a tier 4 archer tower into a fire tower requiring archer and builder.
• Berserker Hermit (Norse Lands only) can be found on the 6th island for 3 gems and can turn a Tier 4 Archer Tower into a Berserker Tower, which enhanced one berserker at a time.
