Lorelei and the Laser Eyes – Story Walkthrough Explained

Story and Ending

The game has a setup where you play as young Lorelei Weiss. You explore a weird hotel filled with old Lorelei’s memories from 2014. This can be confusing since the hotel seems to be from 1963. But the ending explains the setting.

Lorenzo and Renate are important characters in the game. But they are actually not real. They are fictional characters from a story called The Third Eye by Nero Renzo. The story is set in 1847. In the story, Renate changes in a scary way like Renzo does in the game’s final cutscene. Lorenzo gets scared, backs away, and then pushes Renate out of a high window. This kills her.

In the real story set in 1963, Lorelei is not Renate and Renzo is not Lorenzo. Even though they are similar. Renzo’s bio says he met Lorelei at an art show. He called her a “woman with laser eyes.” He hired her to make art for him. But while working at the hotel, Lorelei got scared of how Renzo acted. Robert Sidney’s letter from 1962 warned about this. Lorelei was so scared that she pushed Renzo out of a high hotel window. This killed him.

The trauma of killing Renzo made Lorelei unable to move on with her life. She kept reliving the memory over and over. That’s why you play as both young and old Lorelei. Her whole life became about this one mistake. She quit art and stayed out of the public eye. A newspaper article said she became famous for the tragedy, not her art. Police records about it are unclear. In the cellar jail cell, Renzo says Lorelei trapped him for 51 years. That’s the time from 1963 (when he died) to 2014 (the present). Lorelei and Renzo were not lovers. Renzo was probably gay based on a line he says while dancing with Lorelei. He saw her as a muse, but even that is not totally clear since they were both artists.
Three years were a big deal in Lorelei’s life:

• 1847: The year Renzo’s story The Third Eye was set in. Renate died by being pushed out a window.
• 1963: The year Lorelei killed Renzo the same way.
• 2014: The current year and the last year of Lorelei’s life. Renzo’s ghost closes her eyes as she dies.
