Chat Window Settings / Adjustments
By Jiraki.
When you first log into the game, you are presented with 2 default chat windows:
- ‘Main’ chat window (on the bottom left of your screen).
- ‘Combat’ chat window (on the bottom right).
Main Window
The main window shows communications with other players, as well as all game messages that are not combat related. In the main window, you can click the ‘+’ icon to create a new tab (as shown in the image below).
Combat Window
Combat information is displayed in the Combat window. There are additional options you can use to adjust what information is displayed.
- The default setting of ‘All’ / ‘Both’ on the left and ‘All’ on the right means you will see combat message for any players and NPCs within range.
- To narrow down the selection of combat information you see to just your group, you can change the ‘All’ on the right to ‘Group’.
How do I relocate and resize the chat windows?
You can reposition these windows by placing your mouse over the top edge of the window and holding down the left mouse button.
- Do not worry about accidentally moving the window off the screen as the game will not allow that.
- Holding down left mouse bottom in the bottom right corner of each window will let you resize the window.
How do I adjust window settings?
You may have noticed when you moused over the windows that a tab appeared in upper left of the window. By right clicking that tab (labeled ‘Main’ or ‘Combat’) you can access the Settings menu (as shown in the image below).
- In this window you can see the chat ‘themes’ you can modify for this chat window: Chat, Other and Combat.
- The checkboxes will turn on or turn off a chat stream for the selected window. Some chat streams can’t be turned on or off depending on whether you are modifying Main or Combat window settings.
- If you click on the color swatch to the right you can change the color for that chat stream.
