Prestige Guide
In this guide, I explain all the ins and outs of PickCrafter’s Prestige system, such as what you keep, what you gain, what you lose, what you have to do before and after, etc.
What Is Prestige?
Prestige is like New Game+ for PickCrafter. It allows you to start all over again while carrying some things over.
What Happens When I Prestige?
Below is an explanation of everything that will occur when you Prestige.
- You will KEEP all Pickaxes you have unlocked.
- You will KEEP all Gear you have collected. This includes Weapons, Armor, Biome Items, Boss Soul Items, Chest Treasures, and Event PPS Items.
- You will KEEP all Abilities you have unlocked.
- You will KEEP all Artifacts you currently have.
- You will KEEP all Skills you have unlocked.
- You will KEEP all unused Skill Points you have earned.
- You will KEEP all Boss Drops. This includes Bole’s Mole Soul, Frank’s Pie Piece, Puppy Treat, Adalae’s Broom Fragment, etc.
- You will KEEP all Mythical Blocks.
- You will KEEP all Event Blocks, if there is an Event running.
- You will GAIN 3 Ender Pearls to be used in the Ender Shop. This number can be increased by purchasing the Legendary Contraption of The End.
- You will GAIN access to the Ender Shop if you are Prestiging for the first time.
- You will GAIN the ability to find Artifacts in any Chest if you are Prestiging for the first time.
- You will GAIN the ability to find Mythical Fragments in Chests, and Mythical Blocks in Large Chests, if you are Prestiging for the first time.
- You will GAIN the ability to Upgrade your Pickaxes if you are Prestiging for the first time.
- You will LOSE all normal blocks that are not Boss Drops, Event Blocks, or Mythical Blocks / Fragments. This includes, but is not limited to, Dirt, Emerald, Enderium, Endstone, Midori, Gunpowder, etc.
- You will LOSE all Biome Progress. This means you will be put back in the Plain and all other Biomes will be locked again.
- You will LOSE 4,563,043,200 picks, plus an additional 4,563,043,200 picks for each time you have Prestiged previously.
For example, if you have Prestiged twice, it will cost 13,689,129,600 picks to Prestige for the third time. These numbers may be daunting for new players who still have yet to Prestige, but I can promise you, it will become easier and easier to collect the amount of picks you need to Prestige as you progress in the game.
What Do I Have to Do to Prestige?
- If you are Prestige 4 or lower, you have to be in The End and have the Endstone Pickaxe upgraded in order to Prestige.
- If you are between Prestige levels 5 and 14, inclusive, you have to be in The Sun and have the Plasma Pickaxe upgraded in order to Prestige.
- If you are between Prestige levels 15 and 49, inclusive, you have to be in Chronos’ Lair and have the Clock Gear Pickaxe upgraded in order to Prestige.
- If you are Prestige 50 or higher, you have to be in The Void and have the Null Pickaxe upgraded in order to Prestige.
- You also have to accumulate a total of 4,563,043,200 Picks in order to Prestige, plus an additional 4,563,043,200 Picks for each time you have Prestiged previously.
For example, if you are Prestige 4, you will have to accumulate a total of 22,815,216,000 Picks in order to Prestige for the fifth time.
I’ve Prestiged for The First Time! What Now?
Excellent! Now it’s time to Upgrade your Wood Pickaxe.
How to Upgrade My Pickaxes?
Pickaxe Upgrades are unlocked upon the first Prestige.
To Upgrade a Pickaxe, go to your Pickaxe Inventory (the little backpack icon in the lower left corner, the second tab), and simply equip the Pickaxe you wish to Upgrade. Each Pickaxe costs Resources to Upgrade, whether that be normal Blocks (for the Biome-specific Pickaxes), Event Blocks (for Seasonal Pickaxes during their Event), or Picks (for all other Pickaxes).
Each Pickaxe shows you the Resource you need to upgrade it when equipped, and how much of that Resource you need. If the progress bar is full and solid yellow, that means you have the required Resources to upgrade it. Simply tap the button with the upwards arrow (that’s the Upgrade button), and voilá, your Pickaxe is upgraded!
You will be taught how all of this works when you Prestige for the first time by upgrading your Wood Pickaxe. It will only cost 1 Wood to upgrade it to Level 2, but it will cost 25 Wood for each level thereafter. The Clay Pickaxe costs 75 Clay to upgrade. The Pumpkin Pickaxe costs 50 Pumpkin to upgrade. The Endstone Pickaxe costs 500 Endstone to upgrade.
What Is The Ender Shop?
The Ender Shop is where you’ll find ways to make your game even faster!
Here you can use your hard-earned Ender Pearls to make some aspects of the game faster and better.
You can buy an Ender Chest for 3 Ender Pearls.
You can also buy one additional Ability and Artifact Slot, each for 10 Ender Pearls.
You can also buy the Ender Amulet, which gives you an extra buff to your PPS based on 100% of your raw PPS. For example, if your raw PPS is 4,000,000, when you buy the Ender Amulet, you will gain an extra 4,000,000 PPS.
Also available exclusively in the Ender Shop is the Eye of Ender Pickaxe, which costs 25 Ender Pearls. Is it worth the cost? Maybe not immediately, but later on down the road it could be.
The Eye of Ender Pickaxe has a special Power. This Power will teleport you to a random biome every five seconds while active. I guess that’s the reason why the power is called Teleportal…
You can even TRANSCEND your skill trees from the Ender Shop.
What Is Transcendence?
Transcending a Skill Tree unlocks additional levels of certain skills, giving you the ability to reach heights no one in Runaria has ever thought of before!
It costs 1 Ender Pearl to transcend the same Skill Tree the first two times, and then the cost increases by 1 Ender Pearl from there each transcend, up to a maximum of 15.
You can only transcend each Skill Tree as many times as you have Prestiged.
What to Do with My First Three Ender Pearls?
If I had Prestiged for the first time, I would definitely use my first three Ender Pearls to transcend each Skill Tree once. I would spend my second batch of Pearls on an Ender Chest, and then my third batch of Pearls on transcending the Player Skill Tree twice. From there, it’s up to you how you want to spend your Ender Pearls.
What Is an Ender Chest?
An Ender Chest contains ultra legendary Abilities and Pickaxes that cannot be found anywhere else. For a modest fee of 3 Ender Pearls, you could get any one of 8 legendary Pickaxes, or you could find the magical Ability Buffer or the all-around Potion of Beyond.
What Pickaxes Can I Find in Ender Chests?
The following Pickaxes are exclusive to Ender Chests:
- Divine Pickaxe
- Anti-Chronos Pickaxe
- Alpha Pickaxe
- Unstable Pickaxe
- Transport Pickaxe
- Yogg’s Tentacle
- Ender Chest Pickaxe
- Flame Hammer
