Railroader – Guide to Ranks and Permissions

Ranks and Permissions Guide

Multiplayer

Save games in Railroader may be used for both Singleplayer and Multiplayer. If you create a save in Singleplayer, you can quit the game and host a Multiplayer session using that same save.

Employees and Roles

Railroader’s Access Control settings (available in the Company window Settings tab) give you the tools to run as organized (or as loose) a railroad as you like.

Each player who connects to a server has an Employee Record. This record is part of the save game and allows you to set a persistent Role for each employee.

Multiplayer Settings

Important: Players who have a record and are not banned can always connect! They do not need to use a password.

New Employees

  • Allow: If on, players who do not have an Employee Record can connect. If off, new players will not be able to connect.
  • Password: If empty, no password will be required for new players. If not empty, new players will be prompted to enter the password before connecting.
  • Role: Role that will be given to new employees. We recommend keeping this at Passenger in order to minimize confusion and delay.

Passengers

  • Limit Number: The number of Passenger players that can connect.

Each role has the privileges of the ones below it.

  • Banned: Can not connect to the game.
  • Passenger: Operate doors and gates, but otherwise can not make changes in the game.
