How to Fix Stutter and Performance Issues
By 科达.
Step 1: Game Settings
Start by launching your game. Once it’s open, go into the settings menu and find the Graphics section. Here you’ll want to choose your Overall Quality setting – remember you can always lower this later if your game isn’t running smoothly.
After setting the quality, scroll down until you find Performance Boost in the graphics tab.
Next, head over to the Display tab. Scroll down until you find Frame Control, though I also don’t see the exact settings you want players to use. Once you’ve adjusted these settings, just exit the game and you’re done.
Step 2: NVIDIA Control Panel Setup
Open your Windows search bar and type in “NVIDIA Control Panel” to find and open it. Once it’s open, look for and click on “Manage 3D settings”.
In the 3D settings window, click on “Program Settings.” Now you need to find “Stalker 2.exe” from the list of programs.
Once you’ve found it, scroll through the settings until you see “Max Frame Rate.” Set this number to match your monitor’s refresh rate – for example, if you have a 144Hz monitor, set it to 144.
Don’t forget to click “Apply” in the bottom right corner to save your changes.
Step 3: Getting and Installing the Tweaks
First, go to Nexus Mods and find the Stalker 2 game page. Search for “Optimized Tweaks S.2” or use the link provided.
- Click on “Files” when you get to the mod page.
- You’ll see different options for different computer setups. The top option (marked in green) is recommended, but you can pick what works best for your system.
- Click “Manual Download” on your chosen version, then select “Slow Download”.
Installation Steps:
- Open Steam and find Stalker 2 in your library. Right-click it and select “Properties,” then “Installed Files,” and click “Browse.” This opens File Explorer to your game folder.
- Now navigate through these folders in order: Stalker 2 > Content > Paks.
- Inside the Paks folder, create a new folder named “~mods” – make sure to include the squiggly line (~) before “mods” or it won’t work properly.
- Finally, extract the file you downloaded from Nexus Mods into this new ~mods folder.
Step 4: Disable Mouse Smoothing
Open the Windows Run dialog by pressing the Windows key + R on your keyboard. Type %localappdata% in the box and click OK.
Find and open the Stalker2 folder, then follow this path: Saved > Config > Windows. In this folder, look for a file called “input.ini”.
Open input.ini and add these two lines:
[/script/engine.inputsettings]
bEnableMouseSmoothing=False
bViewAccelerationEnabled=False
Go to the File menu in the top left corner and click Save. That’s it – your mouse smoothing is now disabled and your mouse movement should feel more responsive.
