Guide to Play Celestia (Xinghui)
Celestia, equipped with what looks like a FAMAS is one of the free playable characters available on both defense and offense her kit varies depending on what your team wants or needs.
Let’s first get her kit done.
For the secondary, there are two good options for Celestia: the Flamethrower or Celestia with a sword.
Think about it, if you aren’t using your primary at all times, it’s usually because there’s someone close to you, and at that point, you just gotta burn them or hack and slash them.
Her grenade kit is quite versatile:
- Flashbang Grenade: Useless for Celestia since you can go with her second ability
- Frag: A good staple but would not be as useful as others
- Healing: Honestly, get a fragrance.
- Interceptor: Great on defense and on offense, great for any team comp, and especially good for people who like just making sure their team doesn’t get naded.
- Slow Nades: Perfect for denying entries at certain choke points or just denying paper mode for people to try and fight high ground.
- Smoke: Not as useful on defense as it is on attack, perfect for using to enter with as enemies love holding choke points
- Tattle: Screw Baimos and their flanks
- Windstorm: Three uses, (1) going to cheeky locations that you can’t just paper up to(Cauchy Street and Port Euler as example),(2) denying entry, or (3) denying defuse.
There are many choices of what needs to be used and each Celestia player should use what they’re most comfortable with, personally, I prefer running Slow and Tattle.
Next let’s look at the upgrade path for Celestia.
No matter what Celestia runs heavy armor
Her passive allows her to regenerate armor around allies, and if you’re not using Heavy Armor, you’re basically throwing.
For her yellow upgrades, 3 uses is usually better because the cooldown is usually fast enough that you’re able to constantly allow your entries to get shielded.
For her green upgrade, it’s personally up to how the game is going, “are you decimating the other team” or “are they just absolutely beaming you” that makes you decide whether you wanna be a hunter or a tank against them.
Blue upgrades or GUN upgrades would be as following.
- Headshot Damage
- Improve Accuracy
- 30 round magazine
- Increase Movement Speed
The reason as to my choices is because for the most part, you should be shoulder aiming, only when you’re taking long fights should you ADS, and her recoil is pretty simple to deal with, it’s kind of just going upwards in a slight angle.
What Abilities to go for 2 or 3
This concept really depends on how your team plays, if your team is really pushing them and essentially a very aggressive comp, I would say get her second ability, making it tough for the enemy to want to continue beaming at your teammate without consequences, allowing your teammate to push harder.
Otherwise, if you have a more defensive team getting her 3 would just make them last longer winning more gunfights whether both on defense and offense.
Talking about abilities
So Celestia’s (Q) is the Guardian of The Star, allowing her to give a shield to her teammates. Do note that these shields are temporary, so the perfect time to use these would be right before fights, whether it’s your teammate pushing in, or your teammates getting pushed. DO NOTE The enemies can see you giving armor to your allies, so if your teammate wants to be sneaky, don’t ruin the moment for them.
Celestia’s Ultimate is both a teleport and a buff at the same time. There are about three ways I usually use her Ultimate.
- Playing aggressively and using Celestia’s ultimate to say “fuck this shit I’m out” and hopefully with what I had done, I could probably get 1 pick, down 1 dude making it so that they can’t be res if they were to be downed again.
- Helping your teammate play aggressively, basically making your teammate into a tank, this could be a ming that uses your shields instead of ulting saving themselves an ult while still being a force to be reckoned with.
- The fake get out of jail card, fighting an enemy, “getting out” but at the last second cancel the teleport so that you catch the enemy off guard and essentially a free pick most of the time.
Playstyle
Celestia is a support, her weapon upgrades never had something like “Increase Rate of Fire” or “Increase Base Damage” for a reason and that’s because she’s not meant to be a complete front line runner. She’s meant to be there to support her team. Her gun is really strong but not to the point of beating a Ming 1 on 1 in a fair fight or a Flavia in a close fight. Additionally, her (q) is essentially useless if you play alone as Celestia as there is no teammates to get some “free healing” from.
