The First Descendant – Sharen Release Cutting Force Build

In-Depth Guide to Sharen Release Cutting Force Build

By ComplexNeko.

The Release Cutting Force Red Mod alters Sharen’s first skill in several ways.

Skill Changes

When using the Release Cutting Force Red Mod, Sharens’ first skill changes from Cutoff Beam to Release Cutting Force. This modification introduces the following effects:

  • Cooldown Reduction: The skill’s cooldown is reduced.
  • MP Cost Reduction: The mana cost for the skill decreases.
  • Damage Reduction: However, the damage is significantly reduced, dropping from 802.7 to 230.4. With additional mods, you can slightly increase this damage, but not by much.

Range Reduction:

The damage range also shrinks from 4.4m x 6.0m to 1.0m x 6.0m, though the maximum expandable range remains unchanged. You can increase the total range by up to 150%.

Projectile Speed:

With Release Cutting Force, you now have projectile speed, which can be further enhanced with Arche Acceleration.

Electrocution Infliction:

While the mod retains the electrocution effect on enemies, the damage inflicted by electrocution is reduced, although the damage interval and duration remain the same. You can extend the duration of electrocution using duration mods.

Module Breakdown: Enhancing Release Cutting Force

The following modules have been selected to maximize the effectiveness of Release Cutting Force, focusing on critical hit rate, skill power, cooldown reduction, and survivability. Each module has been chosen carefully to ensure the best balance between spamming the skill and dealing consistent damage.

1. Release Cutting Force

  • Effect: Modifies Cutoff Beam to be unleashed as a sword aura.
  • Reason: This is the core modification that transforms Sharens’ first skill, allowing the use of Release Cutting Force instead of Cutoff Beam.

2. Increased HP

  • Effect: Max HP +218.5%.
  • Reason: Provides extra health for survivability, allowing Sharens to withstand more damage in longer fights.

3. Emergency Measures

  • Effect: Skill Critical Hit Rate +64.6%, Skill Critical Hit Damage +27.7%.
  • Reason: Chosen to boost critical hit rate and critical hit damage, which improves the chances of landing high-damage critical hits. This is essential for increasing overall damage output.

4. Front Lines

  • Effect: Skill Critical Hit Damage +64.6%, Skill Critical Hit Rate +27.7%.
  • Reason: Similar to Emergency Measures, this further enhances critical hit rate and critical hit damage, making the build more effective at dealing high bursts of damage when crits occur.

5. Skill Simplification

  • Effect: Skill Power Modifier +84.5%, Max MP -25%.
  • Reason: This module is chosen for the Skill Power Modifier, which increases the damage of Release Cutting Force. It’s preferred over Maximize Power because we want to avoid long cooldowns to spam the skill frequently.

6. Electric Specialist

  • Effect: Electric Skill Power +81.2%.
  • Reason: This boosts the electric skill power of Sharens’ first skill, allowing for higher damage output. Like Skill Simplification, it’s selected over Maximize Skill to maintain shorter cooldowns, ensuring skill spamming is possible.

7. Skill Insight

  • Effect: Skill Critical Hit Rate +115.4%.
  • Reason: Increases critical hit rate, allowing Sharens to crit more often. This module is crucial for ensuring a steady flow of critical hits, maximizing overall damage.

8. Skill Concentration

  • Effect: Skill Critical Hit Damage +115.4%.
  • Reason: Increases critical hit damage, enabling Sharen’s to deal even more damage when a critical hit lands. This pairs well with Skill Insight to create a deadly combination of frequent, powerful crits.

9. MP Conversion

  • Effect: Skill Cooldown -36.5%, Max MP -15%.
  • Reason: Chosen for its ability to reduce skill cooldown, allowing Sharens to use Release Cutting Force more often. This also synergizes well with other cooldown-reducing modules for efficient skill spamming.

10. Nimble Fingers

  • Effect: Skill Cooldown -25.6%.
  • Reason: Further reduces skill cooldown, ensuring Sharen’s can spam the skill frequently and maintain a consistent stream of damage.

11. Strong Mentality

  • Effect: Skill Cost -15.2%.
  • Reason: Reduces the MP cost of Sharens’ first skill, allowing for more frequent usage without worrying about running out of MP too quickly.

Other Module Options: Swappable Modules for Flexibility

The following modules can be swapped into your build, depending on your playstyle and preference. These alternatives offer trade-offs between cooldown reduction, skill cost, and damage output. You can experiment with different combinations to find what works best for you.

1. Focus on Electric (Instead of Electric Specialist)

  • Effect: Electric Skill Power +77.2%, Skill Cooldown -6.1%.
  • Reason: This module can replace Electric Specialist if you prefer a slight reduction in skill cooldown. However, you will sacrifice some damage output when using your skill. This is ideal if you’re aiming to spam the skill more often, but want to maintain decent damage.

2. Focus on Fusion (Instead of Skill Simplification)

  • Effect: Fusion Skill Power Modifier +68.2%, Skill Cooldown -6.1%.
  • Reason: While this provides less skill power and slightly more cooldown compared to Skill Simplification, it saves 25% of your max MP. This allows for more frequent skill usage, although the downside is that Release Cutting Force has a low base power modifier, making the extra skill power modifier from Skill Simplification more desirable.

3. Fusion Specialist (Instead of Skill Simplification)

  • Effect: Fusion Skill Power Modifier +76.1%.
  • Reason: This gives a slightly higher skill power modifier than Focus on Fusion but lacks the cooldown reduction. You can swap this with Skill Simplification if you prefer saving MP rather than focusing purely on damage, though you will deal slightly less damage overall without the cooldown reduction benefit.

4. Maximize Conservation (Instead of Strong Mentality)

  • Effect: Skill Cost -35.4%, Skill Power Modifier -20%.
  • Reason: This option significantly reduces the skill cost, much more than Strong Mentality. However, it comes at the cost of a 20% skill power modifier reduction, which is critical for maximizing damage with your first skill. Alternatively, you could swap this for one of the cooldown modules or other utility options, depending on your needs.

5. Electronic Syncytium (Instead of Increased HP)

  • Effect: Critical Hit Resistance +15.1%, Electric Skill Power +10.2%.
  • Reason: This gives extra damage for the skill, but removes the only module providing survivability, meaning you’ll die more often, unless you can dodge every bullet like Neo.

Final Thoughts: Experiment with Module Combinations

The modules mentioned above allow for flexible customization depending on your playstyle. You can prioritize:

  • Lower cooldown with slightly less damage,
  • Lower skill cost for frequent skill use,
  • Or focus entirely on damage and survivability.

Ultimately, it’s a matter of preference. You can opt for a longer cooldown but reduced skill cost, or go all-in on damage while sacrificing some utility. Experiment to find the module combination that works best for your desired playstyle.

How to Play

To maximize your effectiveness with the Sharen build, follow these strategies for skill usage and passive buffs:

  1. Skill Usage and Camouflage Buff:
    • Spam Your First Skill: The primary strategy involves frequently using your first skill to deal damage. The key to optimizing your damage output lies in understanding how the camo (active camouflage) interacts with this skill.
    • Camo Buff Mechanics: When you exit your camo, you receive a 100% increase in outgoing damage for 10 seconds. This effect can only be activated once per skill usage and is a crucial part of your strategy.
  2. Applying Increased Damage:
    • Damage Application: The damage increase from exiting camo applies to only one use of your skill at a time. However, this increased damage is applied to all enemies hit by the skill, making it crucial to position yourself where you can hit multiple targets with each skill use.
  3. Utilizing the Assassinator Passive:
    • Assassin Buff Benefits: The Sharen passive buff, Assassinator, is particularly valuable. When you have the Ambush buff, killing an enemy with a skill resets the active camo. Note that this reset has a cooldown of 17.1 seconds.
    • Skill Refresh Strategy: With this passive, you can use your first skill twice with the increased damage benefit. once when you initially exit camo and once more after the reset if you manage to get a kill. This increased damage applies to both on-hit damage and continuous damage effects from the skill.
  4. Combining Strategies:
    • Effective Skill Rotation: Use your camo to initiate combat and benefit from the 100% outgoing damage increase. Aim to secure a kill with your first skill while the Ambush buff is active to reset the camo and reapply the damage boost. This will allow you to unleash a powerful burst of damage on your enemies, utilizing both the increased damage from the camo and the reset mechanic from the Assassinator passive.

By mastering the use of your camo for damage boosts and efficiently managing the Assassinator passive, you can greatly enhance your damage output and control in battles.
