General Tips

Soultaker’s Song and Oridial Sigil:

• Makes you tame special Bests Like Lizzards, Poisen frogs and Serpants.
• Also works on Npcs makes them your retainer.
• Apparently works on the People in the north too!

Profession Leveling:

• Crafting: Build Broken Bowls – only 2 stone chunks per bowl are needed. If you run low on stone chunks, you can also bulk craft fences (15 wood per fence), though don’t ask me where to put them.
• Weaving: Bulk craft the first recipe for weaving. After that, disassemble the gear you crafted. The first recipe gives 10 points, the second 20, and so on. Going higher in recipes is suggested, though it can be quite grindy because of materials.
• Forging: Bulk craft first recipe (10 points per craft – from getting from beginner to Veteran is 50, so you need to craft only 5 weapons) and disassemble it (giving refined iron and refined copper). Higher recipes give more points.
• Leechcraft: Only craft first recipe. Yeah, I found it to be quite meh to craft the others as the only ones that matter are the “Meridian Changing Pills” and “Great Return Pills.”
• Cooking: Only do meat! You can farm that quite easily – beat up your local enemies. Wolves, snakes, eagles, horses – literally any animal gives meat except for serpents, as those give serpent meat and serpent roe. The reason you want to level cooking is that you want to make “Unfulfilled Destiny” food, which gives 30 Chi.

Note: To reach sage at these, you need to talk to NPCs with similar interests. If that’s not your cup of tea, you can always resort to mods that allow you to upgrade your abilities to sage without that.

Tips for Battles:

• Level up your Technique ability. It’s probably the most important because it gives you more moves to work with. You can just meditate to get it leveled up.
• The moves you draw are based on the skills you have equipped, and if you have a weapon/hidden weapon. You can see what moves are in your deck on the diagram to the left in the skill menu.
• You should make sure you have leveled up your skills and move abilities to ensure you’re actually dealing decent damage with them. Also level up Technique so you have more moves to work with.
• Don’t sleep on mnemonics. Even just one mnemonic makes a world of difference. NPCs use them too (You can see by hovering the mouse over their skills).

Skill Progression Tips:

• Be sure you’re upgrading your skills with Kungfu Insight.
• Use mnemonics on your skills.
• Obtain or Make better equipment, preferably with bonuses that complement your build.
• Learn as many Inner Kungfu as you can, some activate on their own or become activated due to sharing a pattern with another.
• Optimize your meridians. Try and activate all the inner kungfu that complements your build first. Meridian Shift pills will allow you to fully optimize it as you can get the exact meridians in the exact order with enough pills.
• Chi boosting items help.
• Make sure to collect your Lucky Jade and use it.
• Generally speaking, don’t use a sword/hidden weapon if you don’t use those moves in your skills. Such as if you all fist skills, both weapons equipped will give you less fists.

Difficulties Freeing Your First Character from the North?

If you don’t want to beat up the north people but also don’t want to die trying, here is some information you might find quite useful:

• NPCs idle 80m away. If you position the NPCs right, they will idle while you can sneak up to your first character and free them
• The “Mini bosses” in the north do 4% damage outside of battle REGARDLESS of your vigor
• There is a way to one-shot North people the following way:
  • Arctic Palm
  • Snow Melting Sword
  • Undefeated Sword
  • Taichi Stand
  • Soultaker’s Song
  • Ordial Sigil (I don’t use those really as they die already after Snow Melting Sword)

You go and initiate a fight with the Humanos (need to be quite fast because of 4% damage). After that, use 3x Taichi Stand. Due to “True Method” inner, you should have Arctic Palm already active.

You will steal their “Void Moves” which can be used as any move. Snow Melting Sword and Undefeated Sword should be ready to use. Then use Arctic Palm once or twice, depending on your liking, and then “Snow Melting Sword” – they should be dead. If they aren’t, use skills until they are.

Tip: Apparently you will get Fate 3 from killing Humanos.

Unlimited Stats Trick

Make a character, make another but it’s a child of the first and fill in the bonus stats, kill the first character, make a third character but make it a child of the second, and repeat. The more you do it the more bonus stats you get, just the way the Spiffing Brit intended.

How does the Ture Law inner Skill work?

In 1/3/5/7/9 rounds allows you to use 1/2/3/4/5 martial art skill slot without any requirements during combat.

Everyday you gain 20 points for every martial art you learnt, every energy cost is reduced 99% and you won’t get sick (Include blindness, crippling). After you unlock it once, it gives you additional meridian dots and expands your meridian map.

Progressing along the storyline you’ll be notify that there will be a island on the north of the map which will be guarded by phantoms.

• If you defeat the phantoms and open the Heaven Gate, you finish the game storyline for now. (Choice might be matter for future update, so suggested to keep a save there).
• If you didn’t defeat the phantoms and is being capture by them, you will be allow to create a 2nd character in order to save your first character, and you are also allow to create a 3rd character as well.

As a workaround, you can talk to NPCs with similar interests and level the skills to Sage that way. Since Guru > Sage still has an XP value associated with it.

How to go up in the Cult?

The quickest way is challenging – after joining, you will be an outer disciple. Beat up an inner disciple a couple of times, go to the sect master, and ask for a promotion. Go find an elder, beat them up a couple of times, return to the sect master, and get promoted. Beat up the sect master, talk to the sect master, and get promoted.

To recruit people, walk up to them and talk -> identify and influence -> inquire about their sect.

How to get the Ji family secret and clear the incomplete person debuff?

You need to be at max-level guru for the skill, request to learn the skill from them (200 relations required), and it will cost you 200 of a type of insight to buy it (which you can steal/loot back from them).

How to unlock the Venom body in the karma screen?

You need the get the venom ailment, not the debuff. Get some poison debuff on you, I think 10 minimum, then wait till you get the venom ailment in your meridians to the required amount.

How to find a sect?

Easiest method is to talk to a Tavern Manager and use the “my path to power” dialogue option. You can then pick a Sect to place.

How to make clothes?

You can make clothing, similar to how you can make pills with a cauldron or weapons with a furnace. You need to use the one for clothes (I forgot what it’s called in-game – loom? Clothing rack?). You should be able to craft it with a high enough crafting level or place it in a building with a high enough building level. Or, you can go to a shop that sells clothing and use theirs.

How do these sub connection stats work?

Each connected acupoint gives a bonus depending on its type; you can see the bonus if you hover over it. If you connect a path’s end to an in-use acupoint, it triggers the bonus again. Ideally, you should have one main path, with the rest connecting to that or to each other so you get multiple bonuses.

How to unlock non-standard sects?

Currently, you must create new miniworlds and hope they spawn in. Creating the largest possible miniworld should give you the greatest chance of finding one.

How to reacquire treasure skills after you return from karma?

• If it’s a tile-specific treasure, you can create a new miniworld, place that tile, and get it.
• If it’s an item like a weapon or something, you could go where you died and loot your body.
• As for skills, when you make another character you should have the option to pick starting skills/inner kungfu from your previous character’s skills.
• A common strategy is to teach others skills or create a bookshelf and make skill books, so your other characters can learn them. That only works when the character is, well, alive of course.

How to upgrade the skills?

• Go to your character (press Tab).
• Change one of your active Skills to one you want to upgrade.
• At the bottom of the skill, there should be a button with 2 up arrows. Press that.
• It costs KungFu Insight to upgrade skills, you get it from combat in general.
• When you have enough KungFu Insight, Press and hold the “Instill Kungfu Insight” button.

After the skill is max level, it should let you Transcribe it for 1000 coins at a bookcase.

How to remove treasure maps from the map screen?

They should go away once you find them. But if you have more maps, you can scroll through them with Right Click + Drag.
