Cooking & Fishing Tips
By Sorcery.
Here is a easy break down to get you started in cooking and fishing in game!
Cooking
Cooking allows you to make food that give you buffs. You may utilize this yourself or sell on the AH for Lucent or both!
How to Unlock Cooking:
- You need to visit a “Cooking Oven”, you can find them in most major settlements throughout the world.
- Leveling your cooking skill will improve the chance of better cooking outcomes.
All cooking foods are split into the following four categories:
- Attack
- Pvp hit, all hit, heal dmg boost, bonus dmg, skill dmg boost.
- Defense
- Endurance, evasion, heavy attack.
- Utility
- Max health, health recovery, health regen, mana regen.
- Miscellaneous
- Fishing/cooking/EXP/Sollant boost.
- You can stack two combat buffs together from food (attack/utility or utility/defense).
- You cannot stack attack and defense food together.
- You gather material to cook with from fishing, amitoi missions, and farming certain mobs for the material drops.
Salt will be your hardest material to get.
You can farm it from these mobs: Location: Daybreak Shore
- Chestacean
- Large Stone Crab
- Sea Crab
- Hermit Crab
- Starlight Firefly
- Iron Chestacean
But they have a very low drop rate. Your best bet will be to use your Amitoi Expeditions.

Fishing
Fishing allows you to fish up fish, sacks, and chests in large bodies of water. Some fish are required for certain cooking recipes.
How to Start Fishing:
- Buy a fishing rod from a Contract Coin Merchant. It costs 300 coins.
- Or, complete your first Amitoi Expedition. You’ll get a free fishing rod from Adventurer Pro Percy as a reward.
Upgrades:
- Rods can be upgraded through Sundries crafting or as random drops from activities like Mystic Portals.
- Vendor “Melissa, Senior Sundries Crafter” in Stonegard Castle will have previews of upgrades for rods.
- The better the rod the easier it is to catch fish.
Where to Fish:
- Any large body of water. Ocean fish differ from freshwater fish.
- The pier on Saurodoma Island is the best spot for the high-tier fish, however, these fish are much harder to catch.
- Send your amitoi to Daybreak Shore on missions for better materials.
Rare Items:
- Sacks: These can contain trait unlockstones, sollant, crafting mats, and archboss material fragments.
- The higher level fishing you have, the better chances for better sacks caught.
