Tiny Glade – How to Create Floating Platform

How to Create a “Pancake” (Floating Platform)

By Stranger.

What seems to work for me:

  • Create smallest perfect square floater in the usual way.
  • Center-snap your rectangle shape to the small floating square. Do not raise it; instead, lower it and flatten the roof – in that order; I’ve sometimes had trouble with it if I flatten first and lower second (and sometimes didn’t have trouble).
  • Place same block on top – if it is flickering between orientations, zoom in very close, it might take slow mouse movement speeds to get the right orientation-snap, especially if you use high mouse sensitivity. But it should let you orient correctly.

I’ve also managed to get a ton of other random methods to work with all shapes and sizes of circles, squares, and rectangles, but in trying to find the simplest method I forgot how I did each one. Also while undoing (or even redoing) random things, it would spontaneously start floating, but that was not intentional.

(It also crashed a lot when rapidly undoing a bunch of these attempts, but considering how much I have free-floating and the rapid undos/redos, that’s not surprising. It always saved correctly, though, it didn’t lose anything.)

Sidenote that I can move, remove, or even lower the original small square and it stays floating, so you could probably do some clever things with that.
