Gameplay Tips for Anxiety and Amnesia Achievements
The Anxiety achievement requires beating the game in 3 hours. It’s not as difficult as it seems. I finished in 1 hour and 43 minutes. Here are some tips to help you get this achievement.
Basic Information
The game timer is always running, even when the game is paused. Keep moving and making progress to get the best time.
Don’t spend too much time on puzzles:
If you’ve played the game before, you should know how to solve most puzzles. For the best time, memorize solutions or keep notes.
Skip unnecessary parts:
- Don’t watch cutscenes
- Don’t read books unless needed for puzzles
- Only talk to the priest when he gives you items
Avoid saving:
Saving takes time. Try to get the Anxiety and Amnesia achievements together by playing without saving.
Keep your health up:
Being in “Danger” status slows you down. Heal when you can. The game gives you many healing items.
Skip rooms you don’t need:
Some rooms only have diary entries or extra items. For example:
- You can skip the Public Restroom near the Boiler Room ladder
- The Sewing Room isn’t necessary if you remember the library door code
Strategies
Don’t always kill enemies:
It’s often better to run away or stun enemies instead of killing them. Here’s what to do:
- Kill enemies in rooms you visit often
- For rooms you only visit once:
- Run around the enemy if possible
- Knock it down if needed
Use shotgun and electric lance:
Use these weapons often. They’re good for knocking down enemies quickly. Save some shotgun ammo for the final boss.
Use the menu smartly
- Don’t combine key items early
- Only reload weapons when needed
- Reload in the menu, not during gameplay
Avoid backtracking:
Plan your route to avoid going to the same place twice. Here are some tips:
- Start the generator first.
- Get both plastic heart pieces in one trip.
- Only go back in time to the chapel once.
- Collect needed items before going back in time.
- Get items from the Main Hall area in a planned order.
These tips can help you move through the game faster.
