Complete Guide to Nanjiang DLC

Three path to trigger this quest:

• First Path – Doctor Path (Find Liu Mayi (Doctor NPC) in Gusu city to trigger
• Second Path – Via Yang Path ( Go to monkey forest, top left corner beat the scorpion give Via Yang the scorpion )
• Third Path – Poison merchant Path ( Trigger it in the Solitary cloud marsh Pier) whatever path you choose there will be a difference in affinity and end rewards which I put It in the conclusion.

Pili School

It’s best to trigger this quest when you have reached 3000/3000 Martial Disciple affiliation credits. Why? Because that’s when you can recruit all the prerequisite characters.

Remember to check that you have the following characters before starting the quest:

• Wei Huo
• Sima Ling
• Shan Guan Hong
• Lu Xian Er
• Leng Wu Qing
• Ye Fei
• Li Yuan Xing
• Yan Wei Huan
• Bai Jin

Note: This is important for a perfect run.

To continue, head to Bramble Shade Forest. Whatever path you choose eventually leads to a meeting with Yang at Bramble Shade Forest. So let’s head there and enter for a dialogue.

You will be stopped by some sick men soon. Fight them to get some rewards.

Gu si gui will appear and join you, fight again to get rewards blue fist manual plague blister strike.

Once done go out of the forest and you be auto teleported to bei shan village.

Gu si gui will ask you if you would like to learn the gu qin. Choose yes learn it! It give you an tier 4 accessory and some affinity with him.

He joins your team afterwards and you guys are to head off to Pili School. Important Notes: If you push your main story too far until you visit Ming Jian Manor (somewhere after the birthday gift in Tian Shui), this quest will fail and you will be automatically locked out of Nanjiang Chronicles.

Now go to Solitary Marsh Pier, where there will be a small dialogue with Leng Wu Qing and Ye Fei.

Listen to big bro Leng, he says wait so wait and don act. After the cutscene, move forward to pick up a key item devil token.

Find the pili disciple not the ferryman to go to pili.

• After going to pili you trigger a cutscene with yefei and leng wu qing.
• Enter the main gate and another cut scene. Leng and Ye fei should leave your party by now.
• After that cut scene another cut scene with Li Yuan xing and Yan wei huan
• Now let’s spar Tang tong for some golden hidden weapon manual thunderclap flameball.
• Go down afterwards to collect treasure chest with some siderite ores.
• Then up the stairs for a cutscene with Ouyang Hai.

• Done with him go to pili deputy chief san he to trigger an important quest line for Pili.
• Now knowing some1 sabotaging the school, he send you to investigate.
• Talk to the disciple beside him for some pills.
• Lets head to via yang first all the way left.

Talk finish with her let’s spar with her there are some green sword manual and pills to get from her. Done, lets show her the evil token we got from the solitary marsh cloud pier. Then we be directed to the Bureau guards Zhao an. Lets go find him and kick his a33. When you attempt to get in, you be stopped by his guards, talk to the black shirt guard beside for some ideas.

Here 3 options are presented.

• Introduce yourself most useless option)
• Bribe him (+ 5 affinity)
• Barge in (minus 10 affinity, some tier 2 drops equipment if you win, +30 affinity after everything) so it’s a total of +20 affinity with him for this option.

It’s obvious choose 3 and kick his a33. After going in he will ask you find some items for him. Going out trigger a scene with Gu. Then you be directed to Via yang, she tells you she have the item and give it to you.

Return and give it to Zhao an. He tell you to choose between 3 rewards. 1) Gold which is actually some ores.

• Martial art manual -10 affinity and you get blue sword manual whispering viper.
• Reject plus 10 affinity.

I choose reject, you are done with him for now. Don’t go to sleep remember the pili investigation case let’s do it now.

Go to the warehouse show token and get in.

Once in Yan and Yuan xing will have a dialogue. Once done talk to Zhu you get the name list. Open item inventory to use it. Then go to the box in this sequence.

• Investigate there will be dialogues with Li yuan xing, Yan wei huan and Lu xian er.
• Once done all 3 lets go back to 1 keep clicking the option check until li yuan xing talks to you.
• Once done go to the right and talk to the 2 NPC (zhang qing and Dian Hang).
• Done talk to Zhu you again then exit.

Yi will have 3 options:

• Ask Leng Wu Qing.
• Ask Li Yuan Xing.
• Ask Gu Si Gui.

It’s obvious here to ask Li Yuan Xing, as he is the only genius that is around. Leng Wu Qing is at Petal Forest sleeping right now.

Once finished, Li Yuan Xing and Yan will leave the party (remember to buff and train up Yan Wei Huan as there will be a battle for him later). Outside, you find them there discussing.

Obviously this plot there is a spy so first answer choose walk in openly. second answer choose few days ago. Last answer so the suspect is? Answer is Duan you.

Let’s go back to report to san he, the deputy chief about our investigation. He ask you to go to the treasure vault. So let’s head there is all the way right where the store room we investigate. We trigger a scene there.

• Win the White Girl battle for a blue-colored Sabreplay manual.
• Watch the cutscene, then head back to Deputy Chief San He to find out more. A cutscene with Li Yuan Xing will trigger while you are on the way there.
• After talking to San He, return to Chief Tang Tong. He will give you a Blazing Cultivation Imperfect Method. Yi and Wei Huo will learn this; however, you can’t max the skill unless you complete it.
• Trigger a cutscene with Wei Huo, Si Ma Ling, and Shan Guan Hong.
• Let’s go back to Via Yang for now. We learned some new information from Tang Tong, so let’s inform her.
• Note: You need to speak to Via Yang 3 times, as you should have 3 pieces of information to give her after everything you’ve done.
• If everything is done properly here and you are on the Scorpion path, Via Yang should be at 55 affinity at this point.
• Exit Via Yang’s room for a cutscene. Then go back to your room and trigger a scene with Li Yuan Xing where he sorts out all the information.
• Note: Do not go to rest at this point. We need to deliver what Li Yuan Xing has analyzed to Via Yang. Most players would have gone to sleep by now; this is easily missable.
• Afterwards, head to Ouyang Hai’s room (the Mingjian Manor disciple). Previously his room was locked, but now you can go in.
• Finally, you can go to sleep now (Note: Please prepare and equip Bai Jin here, as he has an important battle later).

Now you be at the cannon firing test site. Then you get ambushed by a pretty white hair young lady.

• You will go into 2 battles here. Winning the first battle will get you a blue cultivation method.
• Winning the second battle here will get you a Yellow Saber-play mighty move and some pills.
• Afterwards, Yan Wei Huan and Bai Jin appear to stop the Bureau guards’ fight.
• Once done, we go back to Zhao An.

Afterwards go out and talk to via yang. Let’s go to rest after that here you will trigger a dialogue with Li yuan xing.

• Let’s go back to the solitary marsh cloud pier.
• Via Yang joins your party here she should be at 65 affinity.
• One last thing to do before we are completely done with Pili school.
• Go to the north side of the map let’s fast travel to lin chang.
• Head to longmen canyon and camelbell hill.
• Defeat the 2 boss there.

They should drop two key items upon defeat: forged dragon bone (or something similar – I can’t recall the exact name).

This should allow you to complete the Blazing Divination Method. Open your inventory and click them to combine. Now you can max it and teach it to your party members, though it’s exclusive to some only.

Once completed, let’s head back to Lotus Lake and pick up Ye Fei, then to Petalsfall Forest to pick up Leng Wu Qing. We are done with Pili, now push your main quest to Nanjiang.

Nanjiang

Now finally, we are at the main dish of the DLC.

Ensure everyone who is recruitable up to now is in your party. You should get Frosty Condor and Di Zui before attempting this.

After you advance to Discipline Disciple (6000/6000), you’ll be tasked to visit Ming Jian. Go to Gusu and find the Ming Jian Manor disciple.

At the pier, he tells you that the Ouyang family has gone to Jinglong.

Head to the main gate and you’ll trigger a conversation between Leng and Li Yuan Xing. They suspect something. Return to the disciple and you’ll find that he has been murdered.

Now let’s try to track the murderer. Go back to the gate. Frost Condor will have dialogue here; she tells you to go to Bamboo Sea.

So let’s head there now. Go into the map, go up at the first fork all the way to the right, and you’ll find the killer and a beautiful girl inside the house.

• Win the battle here and Lian xin will join your party.
• Then we can head to Solitary marsh pier to go to Nanjiang.
• When you reach don’t head to jinglong first instead go to Pili school we have some stuff to do there.
• Arriving at Pili you will be held at the gate simply show lian xin and they show you the way in.

Go in and find Zhao an.

Talk to him twice, he seems to like you and give you Elusive aura yellow cult method and nine manifestations oranges sword skill.

Go and find lian xin near where they stay in last pili quest.

Once done go back to the main hall, talk to ye fei and yan wei huan, then talk to li yuan xing and leng wu qing.

Then go look for tang tong on the right side. If you have merged the blazing cultivation, he thank you by giving you a tier 2 mythic armour.

• Nothing to do much here, so head to Jinglong.
• You encounter a fight when you enter the city.
• Head to the right and down to save people surrounded from rhino.

Then left to save some Wu xian sect people.

Then left and down to save your wife ou yang xue.

Lastly head right to save centipede envoy, IMO most beautiful wu xian elder tied to Via Yang.

Once everything is done thom lief should arrived, and a bunch of people should leave your party.

Wei huo di zui ++++ Shan guan hong Sima Ling+++++ Via Yang ++++ Ouyang xue and Gu si Gui+++++ 4 groupings find them in the map talk to them.

Talk to thom lief and get a Blue mental sutra Blue cult method.

Head to phoenix cave. Here 2 option Ou yang xue or Gu si gui to stay and guard the cave. Choose Gu as this + 10 affinity to him and affinity to him is important in your whole run.

Go to the right trigger via yang cutscene with a battle.

After this battle Di zui will ask to guard the cave. Let him go.

Once you reach the end, Thom Lief appears to fight the Scarlet Lady. Fight the first battle, then in the second battle, Xiao Wu Yan shows up and you need to fight again.

Winning gets you a Blue Lightness skill: Foxform Steps.

Go up and chase Xiao Wu Yan, and you’ll realize she has escaped. Head back to the main entrance. Di Zui will apologize for failing to protect, and Gu Si Gui will be injured. We need to head to Wu Xian Sect to heal him. Thom Lief will give you a Poison Dragon Sword Yellow Sword Method here.

Go to Wu Xian to trigger the next quest.

She will explain that you need 1 of the 3 herbs to heal him.

These 3 herbs can be found in 3 places. The one you choose will grant you a drop from the boss to boost certain stats:

• Miasma Murk Forest – gives +5 Agility
• Shi Wan Da Shang – gives +5 Strength
• Herb Valley – gives +5 Constitution

Choose whichever you want.

I suggest you do some side quests first before proceeding with the main quest. Go to Er Jun County.

There should be 2 chests in this town; loot them. Head right to find the beggar who will tell you about the Herbal Fairy’s arrival.

Head right and you trigger Herbal fairy cut scene she tells you how to heal Gu and give you some medicines and + 5 affinity with her.

Leave and go back to Jinglong speak to the wuxian girl you saved to get some stats boosting pills.

Go to butterfly village.

There is a chest with blue hidden weapon manual here below the village chief.

Talk to village chief manual do his quest to get some meridian pills.

Liu Yao exclusive swordplay red cult method quest.

Yes this is the red cult manual super overpowering especially if you are using swords.

Talk to the girl left of the village head. She tell you to go with her to shi wan da shang to repay a favour so agree and escort her.

Fight the furryman. Upon winning see more cutscenes. They reward you some meridian pills here and a token, this token is a clue to the dungeon of elusive liu yao swordplay. You can go back and talk to her to get some wine, but since we are here lets not head back first and do the dungeon.

Go all the way up walk into the waterfall. Pick up the chest here.

There should be path to let you walk into the water here.

You find the cave entrance somewhere near here.

Upon entering you see a bagua map. This will be easily resolved if you took the poison merchant route but anyways I just show you guys the sequence on how to trigger it.

Once the door opens, go in and you’ll find 3 chests: 2 with some good materials. In the middle chest, you’ll find the Red Cult Method, but sadly you can only level it up to level 3. You need the core to fully master it, which can be obtained from a boss fight later on. This completes the Liu Yao exclusive sword quest.

Let’s head to Shi Ping Village now for another side quest.

Talk to the guy; he asks you for some honey which can be found in Herbal Valley. Complete this task and he’ll give you a Begonia flower. You need to return this flower to the Physician at Wutong Village to complete his quest, but only if you asked him about his hometown at the beginning.

Now talk to the Old Man Village Head. He will ask you to pick some flowers.

Go to herbal valley top right hand corner you should find a tree. Take note before approaching there are 2 ways to complete this

If you go to spot 1, you pick up a flower and return it to him to get some gold – that’s all.

But if you go to spot 2, you find a comb and a woman will approach you to claim it. After some conversation, she tells you that you should kill her to cure the old man. Here you are presented with 2 options: kill her or bring her back to see the old man. Whatever choice you pick, the rewards are the same. But let’s be a good person and let them reunite, so don’t agree to kill her and she’ll go back to the old man. Afterwards, you may talk to them and get additional rewards.

Alright, we are done. Once you’ve decided which of the 3 herbs you want, let’s go back to Wu Xian and start healing Gu. Upon reaching him and after talking, he will heal you, and then you can go to rest. But before you go to rest, let’s do something first: go back and talk to Thom Lief.

• Talk to Thom Lief and you ask about some things you have been suspecting.
• She give you a token to investigate the forbidden area. You will open a new side quest from here.
• Go to the right and you find this cave protected by the Spider envoy.

• Enter the cave and talk to snake envoy. He convince you to join him.
• Of course as a hero you will say no, and then theres a dialogue with Lu xian er and Li Yuan Xing here.
• Once done find thom lief, and then proceed to find the Frog Envoy.

Then go back to Thom lief and report. At this moment I swear the game like us to repeat, go to find Frog envoy again. And you realise he’s dead.

Leng wu qing and Ye fei will deduce some stuff here so you have another dialogue with them. They suspect those people in white hair should be back.

• Let’s go back and report to Thom Lief.
• Once out Leng wu qing say to check the forbidden area again.

You find the Spider Envoy here, seriously injured. If you’ve never done this side quest before, congratulations – you’ve saved the Spider Envoy. Without completing this quest, the Spider Envoy would be dead, which affects your ending. Fight 2 battles here and Thom Lief will appear.

• Both parties agree to fight 5 days later.
• Your main quest leads to the battle 5 days later.

Go back to the main hall in Wu Xian and Via Yang will leave your party. She needs to train.

Come out and trigger a cutscene with Leng Wu Qing, then immediately go back in again and present the information to Thom Lief. Once done, you can spar and consult with Thom Lief and rob her treasury.

Come back out to trigger Ou Yang Xue’s cutscene.

Ouyang xue affinity + 10. Now you can finally go to sleep.

Wake up and it’s 5 days later, the snake envoy will attack the village. Note if you practice exclusive liu yao swordplay as per my guide. You will notice the dialogue change. He will mentioned to you about exclusive liu yao and how you mastered it. Beating him will get the Liu yao core and you can finally upgrade to level 10.

He will summon a big white snake – get ready for round 2. You won’t be able to beat him at this phase. Thom Lief will ask you to retrieve the Polis Snake Sword, so head there.

Via Yang will follow you as well. For this part, you will need Leng Wu Qing and Li Yuan Xing in your party.

I won’t spoil it here, but if you meet all my conditions, things will be different and you will reclaim the Snake Polis Sword.

Once you retrieve the sword, remember to check a chest here for the Yellow Hidden Move Method: Wu Luo Smoke and an armor recipe.

Now equip the sword and fight envoy. Here you will receive a T1 mythic shirt.

Thom lief will ask you to chase Bai Wei Yi from here. Go to the door at Via yang and make a game save the following battles would be hard and demand some conditions to achieve the best rewards. Its advisable to train Yan wei huang here as he have some important battle coming up.

Note first battle quickly kill and win the battle if the battle drag and end you get no reward. Winning it will give you Soul reaper gu cult method.

Bai Wei Yi will stop the battle, and Ye Fei Di Zui and Yan Wei Huang will join to cover the retreat for Yi to run away. Here, you battle the 2 white-haired ladies.

Upon retreating, Li Yuan Xing will give some suggestions to escape. Yan Wei Huang will offer to cover the retreat route.

Important part: Yan Wei Huang can learn the unique Red Cult method “Skyborne Dragon Mastery” here, a very OP skill. However, the condition is he has to win the first battle.

Yan will beat the Duan brothers here, and reinforcements will arrive.

Round 2: In this battle, you can just lose and near death, he will suddenly get enlightened and learn the Skyborne Dragon skill. Some players have reported to me that winning 2 battles will also get the cult methods. However, in my own playthrough, I won the second battle and he didn’t get the reflection of learning the skill. So I restarted and reloaded the game. I can’t confirm if winning 2 battles will get you the skill, so it’s safer to win the first and lose the second battle.

There will be a side appearance of Xun Yao Yao here with the crows to save Yan.

Back to the MC: Now we’ll be at Ling Bo School (Yes, Shan Guan Hong sect). Nothing much here – pick up some chests. Then head to the medicine room and find Shan Guan Master. She talks to you and offers to heal you, so go back to your room. Di Zui offers to treat you here as well.

Then go back to the main hall and you’ll find Si Ma Ling and Shan Guan Hong there. Note: if you complete their companion quest, you will receive a different cutscene and exclusive red weapon for Hong and an exclusive red lightness method for both of them. This lightness method is considered to be very OP and to be the best in the game. It’s just a pity it’s exclusive.

Go to the front gate once completed. Ou yang xue will appear here and make sure you get the main heroine right it’s her and not Hong.

Then you be jumped to a cut scene with xun yao yao and herbal fairy.

After everything we can go back to Wu xian sect. Yang will welcome you and give you the illusion Gu mental sutra Yellow cult method.

After coming out of the room here a cut scene with Leng wu qing will occur same as always he analyze things.

Looks like they are all gathered. Let’s talk to via yang and Thom lief here then we be headed to shadowmere marsh.

Shadowmere Marsh

Go to the most btm left. And you find a kinda rare centipede which would be used to boost your stats upon learning five immortal sutra (This part is not confirmed by me but other players).

After killing it let’s go left and up a small passageway to obtained some pills.

Head back to where you fought the centipede and go to the bottom right to find chest with dragon wood.

Then go right to find a dead end with crocodile to trigger a cut scene. Fight the crocodile and you guys will set up camp.

Talk to everyone again and rest for the night.

Go in and we fight the perpetual disciples again the fight will give you a blue sabreplay Minorquintfade and blue fist thunderwake finger strike.

XYY and Yan Wei Huang will appear here to help you with the upcoming fight. Note: if you haven’t trained them, they will be extremely squishy here, especially XYY. Winning will give you Orange Sabre Grand Quintfade Sabreplay and Orange Fist Birthless Severance.

Bai Wei Yi will stop the fight and ask you guys to leave. He will arrange a fight 15 days later.

Go back to Wu Xian Hall and find Thom Lief. Finally, you have the chance to learn Five Immortal Mental Sutra to counter the Five Immortal Mental Sutra. The key here is to collect the five poisonous monsters, which is crucial to learning the Wu Xian Ultimate Method. They already have 3 of the five for you, so technically you would only need to find 2 to complete this side quest. Via Yang will give you back the Golden Scorpion if you took her path, or if you gave it to the Herbal Fairy on her path, she will come and return it to you. For now, the poison vendor route doesn’t have a way to get the extra scorpion. As for the Faceless Spider, we can obtain it while reclaiming the Serpent Sword from the earlier walkthrough—it should drop when you fight the spider in the cave.

Once you exit from the Thom Lief building, Herbal Fairy Shang will pay a visit, and you can use this opportunity to spar with her to get some items.

Head to the right towards the Snake Police Sword area. Yan and XYY will wait for you here. Here you have to choose between:

1. Fighting solo (Extremely difficult; you might not hit certain conditions for the best reward)
2. Fighting with Yan and XYY (Moderate difficulty; might be able to hit the conditions)
3. Bringing your entire party (Easier difficulty; however, rewards might not be optimal)

The rewards for options 1 and 2 are the same; however, option 3 might get fewer items if I’m not wrong. So I advise picking option 2—safer and the best choice.

Then we can finally head in and learn the ultimate skill.

Down here you fight a sequence of battles. Perpetual Sanctum tries to play dirty by taking you out:

• 1st battle – Against the undead Snake Envoy. Forced members: Thom Lief, Centipede Envoy, Spider Envoy, Via Yang, and Dizui.
• 2nd battle – Against a few Perpetual Sanctum disciples with Xiao Wu Yan and Duan Zhaochen. Forced members: Ou Yang Xue, Shan Guan Hong, and Sima Ling.
• 3rd battle – Against Xiao Wu Yan and Duan Zhaochen. Forced members: Sima Ling and Shan Guan Hong.

Once all the battles are complete, Yi will come out learning the Five Immortal and come to the rescue. Bai Wei Yi would also appear and apologize for his subordinate’s behavior.

Now head to the left towards Ouyang Xue’s room. Doctor Shang will come over and tell you her condition. This scene will add +10 affinity to Ouyang Xue.

After you exit Ouyang Xue’s room, don’t sleep. Go find Doctor Shang and talk to her about all her options.

Every option should give you +5 affinity, if I recall correctly.

Now head to Jinglong before the final battle. Bai Weiyi wants to talk to you. Note: here, if you do all the sequence properly, you should get a cutscene of his past where he and his lover talk, and you’ll see him stopping the monk.

Once talk finish, via yang will accompany you back to Wu xian sect. Note if you are on scorpion envoy path, Via yang affinity should reach 100 here. And let’s go to find Doctor Shang again.

She plays some music and her affinity goes up. She should be at 50 affinity at this point if you are not on her path.

Now go back and sleep. Ou Yang Xue will have a cutscene with you.

Now, time for the final battle. Yan Wei Huang and XYY will rejoin your party here. So equip them and train them if you choose the three-man fight.

Head to the main entrance and speak to Via Yang. She gives you a scorpion pendant (Note: you need to be on her route to receive it).

Talk to all the NPCs here and then talk to Thom Lief before heading to the final area.

Fight the first battle with Bai here alongside the 3 companions.

Then fight his second phase. Note that you need to finish him within 24 turns. Throw all your ultimate skills at him to take him down quickly. I advise using the Polis Snake Sword and Five Immortal Mental Sutra here to stack poison on him because his regeneration is quite problematic. Beating him under the required conditions rewards you with:

• Tier 1 equipment
• The Orange Lightness skill “Chenghuang Windrider”
• A Yang Dragon Bone

Here you can choose 2 option which would lead to 2 ending.

• Option 1: Stay and do nothing.

He dies and everyone commit suicides and you get Jiliang moan a tier 1 fist equip for your effort.

• Option 2: Interfere

You saved everybody! This option can only be triggered if you closely follow the guide and achieve certain conditions and affinity levels. Leng and Li Yuan Xing have a cutscene here where they stop the Bureau’s plans.

You’ll then return to Wu Xian Sect where Ou Yang Xue will tell you he is leaving with his father. Thom Lief will ask you to bring Via Yang along on your journey and will let you keep the Polis Snake Sword, with the additional reward of the orange cultivation method “Silkworm Method.”

Now exit wu xian and Li yuan xing will talk to Yan that he thinks you are martial alliance leader material. XYY will leave ahead with you to Jinglong where you she decides to hug or kiss you I can’t really tell.

Return to Wu Xian Sect and before doing anything else, talk to Thom Lief to receive:

• Pentatreasure Nectar Brew (boosts HP and MP by 300)
• Various recipes

Then go to Shadowmere Marsh and head to Perpetual Sanctum.

If you achieved the good ending by saving everyone, there are additional activities available here.

Treasures to collect (3 total in this map):

At the front gate, go left across a small river to find:

• Refined pills
• Hides
• Red Music gifts

Now go back to where you start go in the first door then somewhere on the top left.

Head to the left passage you find the life seal bearer hall and bottom right for another chest.

Head to the centre you find Herbal Shang here. She say she would find seal bearer wu jiu the sickly pal. So head there at the left of the map. And they talk about some healing methods to cure snowlock of their illness. Herbal Shang will tell you that she have nothing to do and would join you to heal people on your journey and in return you protecting her. Her affinity would be 100 here if you went her route if not it be 70.

Now head to the most inner hall and you find the seal lady Xiao Wu Yan here talk to her for some dialogues and she apologise to you however she can’t join you which sucks and that’s about it. You can build your affinity with her and spar her for her items.

Now go and find Bai to the left of here talk to him to learn some history lessons of his past and the tribes and his cultivation methods. Now we are at the most difficult part of the side quest. You would have to approach a statue and fight all the seal bearers plus Bai which is insanely difficult if you did not prepare well.
