Wartales – Archer Build Guide

The Elusive Hunter

This build is for killing enemies from far away. You can make them come out from their safe spots and kill them slowly over time. You stay far from the enemy units.

Convenience

Archers usually don’t do much damage at first. They get better later in the game. This build is the same. But it’s still useful early on. You can slow down enemies or make them come out from safe spots. You can use this build in many ways while leveling up.

You don’t need special gear or rare weapons. You can make everything yourself. This is good because you can use the same gear for other builds. You don’t have to do hard quests or fight tough bosses to get special items.

Main Idea

The main idea is simple: stay far from enemies and kill them from a distance. We use skills and gear to do this. You should try to be far from the fighting and slowly kill off enemy units as the battle goes on.

Skill Points

  • Put 15 points in Willpower
  • Put 20-22 points in Movement
  • Put the rest in Critical Hit

Profession

Choose Tinkerer. At the highest level, it gives you 12% more critical hit chance. This helps you get closer to 100% critical hit chance.

Skills

  • Level 2 – Valorous Victory
  • Level 3 – Hunter
  • Level 5 – Reinforced Arrows
  • Level 8 – Easy Prey
  • Level 10 – Lone Wolf
  • Level 12 – Class specialization – Subtlety

Useful Extra Skills

Equipment

Armor and Helmet:

Pick any light armor and helmet. While armor that improves critical hit chance is helpful, it’s not a must-have. We can still reach 100% critical chance without it.

Helmet Stamp:

Go for Bandit’s Focus. These enemies are common, so it’s easy to get this stamp. If you can extract helmet stamps using Master Tinkerer, even better. Bandit’s Focus increases critical hit chance by 20%. It does cost one valor point, but we’ll make up for that with oils later.

Armor Layers:

The best choice is Mihr Brooch. This increases critical hit chance by 15%. Use it three times to get a total 45% increase in critical chance. This boost is really significant for our build.

Weapon:

Any bow will work, but a war bow is the top choice. Here’s why: when you get a critical hit with regular shots, it fires a second time. You can easily get a war bow from standard contracts. This extra shot is really useful when fighting enemies with high armor.

Weapon Oils:

  • The Brave’s Oil: This oil is great for getting back valor when we use skills. It helps manage our valor consumption effectively.
  • Perforating Oil: This oil ignores 50% of the enemy’s guard. It’s very effective against targets with high armor and guard.

Belt Accessory:

Use The Brave’s Oil Concentrate. This item increases the chance of applying oil effects by another 50%. This means that every time we use a skill that needs valor, we’re likely to get that valor back.

This setup allows us to maintain high critical hit chances, deal with armored enemies effectively, and manage our valor efficiently throughout battles.
