How to Use a Metal Detector for Beginners
By Astralsylv.
You can buy a Metal Detector from the beach shop for $100.
Take your detector for a walk around the area. When you get close to something good, you’ll hear beeping and notice a red circle floating above your head. The closer you get, the faster and louder that beeping becomes.
Keep following the sound until you spot a dirt mound appear on the ground. Once you see it, you can dig up your treasure right there.
Any player can take items from metal detector spots on the map. This is fine though, because when someone takes the loot, a new spot will appear somewhere else. These spots don’t stay in the same place – they move randomly around the map.
The game can show up to 7 spots at once and is always trying to make new ones appear. When you first start a game, you’ll see 4 spots right away. Each spot stays around for about 3 minutes before it disappears.
Just so you know, these spots are created by the host’s game. This is why you might have trouble finding them sometimes, since the game can have connection problems between players.
How to find stuff with your metal detector:
- Walk around until you hear beeping.
- Keep walking the same way (press W).
- Listen to the beeps – they get faster or slower. Go back and forth until you find where it beeps fastest.
- Now walk left and right (A and D) until you find where it beeps fastest from side to side.
- Check front and back one more time (W and S) with small steps – you might have gone too far before.
This is how your path will look:
