How Buildings Work
Most buildings can get bonus production when they’re placed ON certain terrain or NEXT TO other buildings. You can usually get these bonuses 1-2 tiers after you first get the building. Buildings can connect to others in all 8 directions around them.
Tier 1
- Iron Mine: Gets 40% more when built on Rocks
- Iron Smelter: Gets 25% more for each Iron Smelter next to it
- Widget Factory: Gets 40% more when next to exactly one other Widget Factory
Tier 2
- Sand Pit: Gets 25% more when built on Sand
- Glass Kiln: Gets 50% more when next to exactly two other Glass Kilns
- Gyroscope Fabricator: Gets 25% more when next to at least one Glass Kiln
- Widget Spinner: Gets 60% more when next to Rocks (but not on top)
Tier 3
- Oil Field: Gets 25% more when built on Swamp
- Oil Power Plant: Gets 100% more when next to an Oil Field and one other Oil Power Plant
- Battery Assembler: Gets 25% more when not touching Water or Swamp
- Capacitor Bank: Gets 15% more when next to at least two Battery Assemblers, but no other Capacitor Banks
Tier 4
- Copper Mine: Gets 25% more when built on Rocks
- Copper Forge: Gets 100% more when built on Forest
- Plastic Extractor: Gets 25% more when next to Oil Field
- Circuit Fab: Gets 100% more when completely surrounded by buildings or blocked terrain (Water and Mountain)
- Computational Engine: Gets 15% more when not next to another Computational Engine
Tier 5
- Tesla Coil: Gets 25% more when next to exactly two other Tesla Coils, but no other buildings
- Core Foundry: Gets 100% more when not next to any building, or 50% more when next to at least one Core Foundry
Tier 6
- Silicon Extruder: Gets 20% more when next to Sand Pit
- Processor Lab: Gets 50% more when next to a City (but not on top)
- Mainframe Assembler: Gets 15% more when next to exactly one other building
Tier 7
- Uranium Mine: Gets 25% more when built on Sand
- Fuel Rod Assembler: Gets 50% more when built on Forest
Tier 8
- Widget Minitizers: Get 10% more for each Widget Factory next to it
- Nanoscale Lab: Gets 15% more when built on Ruins
- Reactor Foundry: Gets 50% more when built near a Nuclear Power Plant
- Quantum Tunnler: Gets 50% more when built on Prairie
Tier 9
- Helium Extractor: Gets 30% more when built on rocks
- Conductor Factory: Gets 15% more when next to both a Helium Extractor and Iron Mine
- AI Laboratory: Gets 15% more when built on grass
- AI Delimiter: Gets 10% more when next to exactly two AI Labs and nothing else
Tier 10
- Training Center: Gets 10% more on Ruins
- Data Transformer: Gets 10% more when next to 3 different buildings (not counting other Data Transformers)
- Ascension Facility: Gets 10% more on city tiles if nothing is next to it (only worth using on small cities)
Tier 11
- Perpetual Motion Engine: Gets 25% more for each different building next to it (not counting other Perpetual Motion Engines)
- Sentience Facility: Gets 5% more for each different type of terrain next to it
- Picoscale Lab: Gets 5% more for each Circuit Fab, Processor Lab, or Nanoscale Lab next to it
- Sentience Aggregator: Gets 10% more if next to an Omega Project Assembler
Tier 12
Note: Tier 12 has 10 buildings, but 9 of them don’t give bonuses. You can use these to boost other buildings that need different buildings next to them.
