Your huge cannon will gain you a huge advantage from the early game onwards. Therefore, the main important thing is to find a GOOD location to build your city to make full use of the oblivion cannon (you can only build 1 city).

Your priority when building the city is the terrain around it (good to have a mix of terrain tiles especially resources like food, minerals, chips and power, probably in that order).

Next, you want to make sure that you measure your cannon range (as of this demo) after the upgrade, gets a whopping range of 2-12!! so you can maximize the range of the cannon. Therefore, starting at the corner is not recommended because you waste the cannon’s ability to reach further. Build nearer to the center from the corner. But this depends on where you start, so build accordingly especially if there are enemy factions at the corners instead.

This alone is amazing because you’ll always have an extra unit so to speak, to fight alongside your forces in the early to mid game onwards. You can also farm the giant monsters that respawn from time to time. The cannon benefits from engineer tuning too and has splash damage.

• EM has better research potential using her cannon and ability, so capitalize on it and Specimen Containment.
• For your army, you need to focus on things that can increase the rate of production and quality. That means cheaper units and a focus on higher tier units + more heroes.
• The amazing thing is that, you won’t have to worry about disloyalty because of only 1 city and the trait that increases +6 loyalty.
• You also want the human Orbital Uplink(s) that maximizes your outpost resource production.
• Human bunkers within the range of your cannon and direction of your enemies is also a good idea for protection.
• Get rare items for heroes.

Additional tips

The way Emulated Mind grow’s its economy is through faster building construction. An economic rush is accomplished through obtaining the crane building as quickly as possible. The Flesh Tree becomes extremely important as well to ensure a population growth is maintained. Events that effect population growth are extremely harmful.
