Tips on how to best play specific human leaders (played on Medium / Hard for SP, based on my experience playing them).
Guide to Playing Human Affinity Leaders
By Soul-Delicatessen
Fallen Soldier
- Your military is strong with the +2 health per turn, irrespective action taken. This further increases by another additional +1 health per turn (Tier 5). This doesn’t include holding position to heal, normally or in outposts / cities.
- Early Game, this is very noticeable. So, Militants and Outriders become very viable.
- Get a Barracks ASAP to train more Militants.
- Additionally, get Specimen Containment for research points when killing neutrals.
- Then, get both Grenades and the Commander!
- Get buildings to increase production to get more units out ASAP.
- Specialize in building cities for only specific resources to max output for economy!
Honorable Aristocrat
- Starting, he is weak. He excels once his economy grows from mid to late game. So, its important to get a good city starting location and play defensive early, even if you start 1-2 turns later.
- Early on, get for outriders and commanders ASAP for scouting and attacks.
- Bazaars are what you really need to build your city close to. Usually get this for your 2nd city (I don’t recommend getting for your 1st city, as you need to build up your economy to capitalize on this leader’s strengths).
- This leader’s ability.. “Hired Hands”.. works on buildings, abilities, units etc. You can build units on demand when needed, so you can save resources for other areas.
- With a higher influence rate.. you can use it to purchase resources and items.
- Use the Aristocrat’s ability to purchase resources for 1:1 influence (40 food, minerals or energy), which is very worth it.
- In short, you don’t need to worry about building multiple buildings or increasing production rate too much. Just max out as much resources, influence and loyalty.
- Maximize your influence via admin complexes and halo theaters.
