Beginner’s Essential Guide
Team Setup
In Zero Division, you build a team of 3 characters from a pool of 9 operators. You can’t use the same character more than once.
The three main roles are:
- Guardian: These are your tough guys. They can take hits and have skills to protect the team.
- Assault: These are your damage dealers. They’re good at hurting enemies.
- Specialist: These characters help in different ways, like healing or buffing the team.
The first three heroes (Paladin, Renegade, Mirage) work well together.
Game Modes
Zero Division has three game modes:
Standard Mode:
You need at least 16 cards in your deck. You can only have two copies of any card. This mode makes you think about balancing your deck.
Unlimited Mode:
This mode doesn’t have card limits. You can use as many copies of a card as you want. You unlock this after beating difficulty level 7.
Draft Mode:
In this mode, you build your deck from card packs at the start of a run. It’s a bit like a card game tournament. You unlock this after beating difficulty level 9.
You can change your deck between battles in all modes. This lets you try different strategies without starting over.
Difficulty Levels
There are 11 difficulty levels in the game. As you go up in difficulty:
- Enemies get stronger.
- Enemies get special abilities.
- You earn less money.
- You don’t heal as much between battles.
Beating harder levels unlocks new cards, characters, and modes. It’s a good way to challenge yourself and get more stuff.
Exploring the Map
Each chapter has a map you can move around. You don’t use up supplies unless you enter a new area. Here’s what to look for:
- Question marks: These are random events. They could be good or bad.
- Shopping carts: These are shops where you can buy cards or items.
- Crossed swords: These are normal fights.
- Skulls: These are tough enemies. They give better rewards.
- Big skulls: These are boss fights.
Try to fight as many tough enemies as you can. They drop better stuff. Just watch your supplies (the green square in the top left). If you run out, you won’t get rewards from fights.
Getting New Cards
After winning fights, you get card packs. You can open these in the warehouse. Tougher enemies drop better packs with a higher chance of rare cards.
Some cards are called “AGI forged.” These are stronger versions of basic cards. They might do more damage or cost less to use. Keep an eye out for these!
Improving Characters
Each character has a skill tree. You use points called Mnemosynth from battles to unlock skills. The tree has four rows:
- The first three rows make the character’s special cards better.
- The last row gives new passive skills.
If you’re having trouble with harder levels, try fully upgrading your favorite characters. It makes a big difference!
Building Your Deck
Each character in your team has their own deck. Their deck has:
- Red cards: These are special cards only that character can use.
- Gray cards: These are general cards any character can use.
When building decks, think about each character’s role:
- Tanks: Include cards for shields and drawing enemy attacks.
- Damage dealers: Focus on damage cards, drawing more cards, and getting resources back.
- Support: Include cards for drawing more cards, summoning helpers, and buffing allies or debuffing enemies.
You can save some powerful cards to use in future games with the Fail-Safe Protection System. It’s smart to save versatile cards that are useful in any game.
Card Types
There are four types of cards:
- Strike: Usually deals direct damage to enemies.
- Tactic: Gives various bonuses, like increasing attack, adding armor, or drawing more cards.
- Gear: Often summons helper characters to fight for you.
- Shot: Like Strike, these also usually deal damage.
Some characters work better with certain card types. For example, Rook gets 1 action point back when he uses Strike cards.
Battle Screen
When you start a fight, you’ll see:
- Character cards: These show stats for your team and the enemies.
- Hand area: This is where your cards appear.
- Action points: You use these to play cards.
- Deck and discard pile: You can click these to see what cards you have left or have used.
- Equipment slot: This shows any special gear your character has.
The top left shows the turn number and how many helpers you can have out.
How Battles Work
At the start of a battle:
- You draw 3 cards.
- Each turn, you draw up to 3 cards total.
- You can have up to 10 cards in your hand.
- Each character gets 3 action points and 1 attack per turn.
To fight:
- Play cards by using action points.
- Attack enemies with your basic attack.
- Use special abilities when they’re ready.
- Check what the enemies will do next by hovering over the red button.
- Use shields or counterattacks based on enemy targets.
- Watch out for enemy passive abilities that might cause trouble.
When you’re done, click “End Turn” to let the enemies go.
That covers the main points of Zero Division. The game has more strategies to discover as you play. Try different team setups, experiment with your decks, and have fun exploring the game!
