Perennial Order – How to Beat Oak Devil Boss

Oak Devil Boss Fight Guide

  • Difficulty: Hard (7/10)
  • Area: Misty Foothills

Useful abilities: Extra wisps (Kinship) + Gap-closers (Fallen Strike / Double Dash) + Spike Dash for extra damage over time.

Helpful partner abilities: Echo Parry, Phantom Strike. Oxalis can be good but it’s hard to place.

How to Beat It:

  • The boss does close-range attacks, grabs, and attacks that affect your wisps.
  • If the screen shakes, he’s about to run and try to trample you. Dodge out of the way.
  • When he jumps in to swing his weapon or claw, dodge away, then dash back to attack. Watch out for a tail swipe at the end.
  • If he jumps above you across the screen, he’ll do 3 horizontal charging attacks. Dodge up or down to avoid them.
  • He can grab and drag you like the vine plants. You need to land a critical hit to break free. To avoid this, either:
  • Dash when his arm reaches out (listen for the sound)
  • Use the Out Of Time ability to guarantee a critical hit
  • He might teleport next to you and try to grab you. Be ready to dodge away quickly.
  • You can usually attack him at the end of his attacks before he jumps away.
  • He has two attacks that affect your wisps:
    • Makes all your wisps explode (they will regenerate)
    • Steals one wisp permanently (until the fight ends or you respawn)
  • When he’s about to steal a wisp, he charges up. You can either run away to keep your wisp, or attack him while he’s charging if you don’t mind losing a wisp.
