Guide to Ultimate Freyna Build

The builds revolves around these 4 damage modules.
The mobbing setup make use of her 1/3 skill for spreading poison and wiping out the mobs.
Here We are running Contagion since most mobs dies with one tick of poison, and the spreading of poison just makes our life easier. Reactor rolls doesn’t really matter, we can seek QoL and damage from element/type bonus, faction bonus, range, cd/duration, etc. At the end of the day, mobbing with Freyna is easy, no strict requirement on reactor needed to make her good.
Secret Garden Unique ability sounds good and is good when we keep it up. But when I am using Freyna for mobbing, I never keep the stacks up because everything dies and continue dying 99% of the time when I just shoot 1 and 3 once. I’m lazy.
There will be situations (some of the 400% and places with lots of tanky mob)where the reduced duration and lower DoT of just Room 0 = suboptimal. Swap it out for other Transcendant of your choice. I like to Venum Synthesis when I’m lazy to roll, Toxic Stimulation for the mobs to poison themselves or just no Transcendant mod.
- Contagion = easier and larger spread range at the cost of damage and puddle duration.
- Venom Synthesis = runs faster and leaves poison behind like Viessa’s frost road.
For every farming spot, we should play around with: range/duration/mp recovery/cooldown/damage/transcendent to get the optimal results.
This is for nuking solo bosses that Freyna can one phase with just one clip of Venom Baptism. We run Full Slayer with all the MP rolls on the components. Overwhelming shield here is to trigger all the buff Venom Injection gives us and keep us from getting nuked by some of the attacks some colossus throw at us before they go down.
To build around her ult, we need a few things in place.
- Our gun setup – Maximize Magazine Capacity and Fire Rate
- 2 Mag Size Mods + Fire Rate Up and Sharp Precision Shot
- With Slayer we and 12% Magsize roll on our gun, we can get up to 94 rounds in our Venom Baptism.
- Fire Rate Up and Sharp Precision Shot is for firing our shot faster and making sure we can finished the entire clip in our ult duration.
The best guns here would be any legendary impact round weapons since SPS on impact round weapons takes 4 seconds to get to max stack instead of the usual 5 on the other weapons. But either way, if we do the roll to cancel the weapon switch animation, all weapon types can finish the entire clip, maybe just a second of so slower.
For Reactor rolls, we want Bonus VS Colossus. The other stat is optional and icing on the cake. Type/Element bonus = more damage with Tech > Toxic, CD enable higher DPS over long fights.
For Component sets, we have 2 options, Slayer for Maximize Damage since it increases base skill power ratio by 26.1% and mag size.
The new Distorted Resolve Set from Death Stalker is an interesting set, it provides more survivability and interacts with Venom Injection very well when running with Overwhelming shield. It is something that can work.
- In my testing against 30+ Death Stalker runs.
- Damage: Slayer > Distorted by about 10-20%
- Survivability and Sustain: Distorted > Slayer by about 20-40%
But for solo bosses that we one phase, Slayer is the way to go, we will talk more about consistent DPS setup next.
This setup works very well against Toxic bosses like Obstructor and Death Stalker, and other bosses if we are confident of not getting one shot with around 8k (Slayer) or 10k (Distorted).
It works surprising well for Toxic bosses because Venom Injection provide us with 250% Toxic Resistance increase. With just a good roll on my processor, we can get 12k Toxic Resistance. And with 5% shield recovery per second, we shouldn’t die at all if we play well enough unless the boss targets us 24/7.
When using Slayer, there might be MP issues if the mobs don’t drop enough MP for us or the boss is always aggro on us. The MP issue is less prevalent with Distorted if we are hit, else the MP recovery on our sensor with Maximize Conservation will keep our MP relatively healthy.
If we are confident, we can swap Increased HP for Dangerous Ambush and go in with 4k Shield, which is doable but not consistent.
If we want to use Distorted, it is advisable to break a part ASAP to trigger the Exaltation stacks to do some damage and reduce Colossus DMG.
Here is the setup for bosses that Venom Injection’s Shield setup might not work well in.
With Slayer, with the ideal component rolls (MP, HP, DEF, Element Res, HP), we have around 12k HP, 17k DEF, 3k Res. It is a pretty comfortable setup. With Dangerous Ambush, the damage might be on par with or lower than the previous setup depending on aggro/frenzy/down/teammates RNG.
We don’t really need to run any Transcendent here, Toxic Stimulation just gives everyone in 10m radius our 2 and 5% more defense.
There’s an option to run Multi-Talented and cast our 2 when our ult is about to end to have a 11 second cd ult instead of a 20-30 second ult. That can replace Dangerous Ambush. But which is better, depends on your prefence and aggro/frenzy/down/teammates RNG.
I prefer Dangerous Ambush, cutting our ult short for a short cooldown can feel awkward especially if we run Sharp Precision.
