What are the best pets to use?

Legendary Pets

Little Elephant is a staple in most builds as a consistent healing source.
IceWind Fox has a powerful skill that allows you to freeze enemies – potentially allowing you to “cheese” content that you otherwise might not clear due to stat limitations.

Mythic Pets

Slime King provides both combo and counter rate increase that lasts throughout the battle. Commonly used in combo/counter/crit builds.
Flash is good for arena, guild raid and other non-chapter related content. Still a solid pick if you have no alternatives.
Unicorn provides crit rate increase that lasts through the battle. Useful for bow/crit builds, but Freya is considered better.

Immortal Pets

Elsa should be included in your pet roster permanently across all types of content as soon as you can get her.
Freya is a solid choice for skill/crit builds. Provides skill crit rate and skill damage.
Piggy provides lifesteal rate and lifesteal. Situationally good, depending on your build.

How many pet eggs needed to level up to X level

Should I level my non-equipped pets?

Yes. Non-equipped pets still provide their passive Global ATK/HP/DEF % upon reaching the 5/10/15 level threshold
